Prime Video, starting Friday June 2nd

In the Tasmanian town of Deadloch, devilry is at work – murder, at least – and it’s up to local police officer Dulcie Collins (Kate Box) to solve the crime, with the help or hindrance of Darwin Police Officer Eddie Redcliffe (Madeleine). Sami), who is a bit rough to say the least, along with eager junior cop Abby (Nina Oyama). A local man has been found dead on the beach near this quiet seaside village and the trio must find common ground in order to find the killer. This feminist comedy was created by Kate McCartney and Kate McLennan, who say they wanted to make a down-under version of British crime drama Broadchurch – only funnier.

Barracuda Queens

Netflix, starting Monday June 5th

In the 1990s, an affluent neighborhood in Sweden experienced a series of high-profile burglaries, with everyone hiding their jewels under the laminate flooring. These are no ordinary thieves, however, but a “bling ring” of privileged young women looking to get revenge on the playboy guys who did bad guys to them – while still retaining the girl power thrills of the 1990s want to experience. Count me in. These rich robbers call themselves the Barracuda Queens, but how long before they bite off more than they can chew?

The Full Monty

Disney+, starting Wednesday, June 14

We’ve waited a quarter of a century, but finally the boys from The Full Monty are back for another thrill – albeit this time they’re keeping their clothes on. aww Fans of the original 1997 film won’t want to miss the return of the original cast, including Robert Carlyle as Gaz, Mark Addy as Dae, Hugo Speer as Guy and Tom Wilkinson as Gerald, plus a whole new cast of younger characters. The history? It’s been 25 years since the gang has lived their entire lives, but many of Sheffield’s social issues are still the same. Time to get the gang back together for another half-hearted plan.

The big tour: Eurocrash

Prime Video, starting Friday 16 June

Can three rusty old cars rattle through central Europe without the wheels coming off? Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May are back on another turbocharged adventure and far from having no more roads, they have planned an epic 2,250km journey from Gdansk in Poland via Slovakia and Hungary to Lake Bled in Slovenia. On this journey they will drive some unusual cars, including a gangster mobile, but along the way they can also try an Eastern European hypercar, a classic Skoda racing car and even a flying car.

Secret invasion

Disney+, starting Wednesday, June 21

Samuel L. Jackson takes the front lines in the latest series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, donning the long cloak of SHIEL-D agent Nick Fury to battle Skrull boss Talos, who is leading an army of shapeshifters into a new world leads takeover bid. Can Fury single-handedly stop this invasion – and, more importantly, avoid the inevitable MCU fatigue set in after a gazillion movies and series? Jackson is joined by an all-star cast that includes Ben Mendelsohn, Cobie Smulders, Olivia Colman, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman, Emilia Clarke and Dermot Mulroney.

Cootie is a black boy growing up in Oakland, California, but to his parents’ dismay, he keeps growing until he’s too big for the basketball team himself. His concerned parents keep him at home, but when he outgrows the house, it’s time for Cootie to get outside and try to fit into the world as a 13-foot-tall teenager. Can he find love, friendship, and Nike Air sneakers to fit his giant feet in? We’ll find out in this “mythical odyssey that questions the purpose of the mythical odyssey.”

Idris Elba plays Sam Nelson, a business negotiator whose skills are put to the ultimate test when the plane he’s traveling on is hijacked. Sam is used to negotiating deals in the boardroom and not dealing with ruthless terrorists, but he must take responsibility if he is to save his fellow passengers in this suspenseful, real-time thriller. Archie Panjabi plays anti-terrorist officer Zahra Gahfoor, who is working on the ground to resolve the situation.

John Krazinski returns as the eponymous CIA agent in the fourth and final season – and wouldn’t you know, it’s his deadliest and most dangerous mission yet. You’d think he’d be able to wrap up a routine drug bust now as the agency’s deputy director, but no. This time he faces a drug cartel in league with an international terrorist group, and a vast internal conspiracy that threatens the already frayed fabric of American democracy. My goodness. No rest for the wicked.

The Witcher

Henry Cavill is back for one last round of kicking demons before he hangs up on his swords, daggers and other deadly weapons in this third season of the fantasy franchise. But who will protect the world from evil after Cavill quits? Don’t worry: Liam Hemsworth has agreed to play Geralt of Rivera in season four. But has anyone told him that these demons and beasts will keep coming and whoever he meets will either betray him or try to kill him? It’s probably in the fine print, in some illegible old handwriting.
