2022 PFL 8 date, time, odds & location for the the PFL Playoffs

After a successful start to the 2022 PFL Playoffs, the Professional Fighters League travels to Wales on August 13th. The welterweights and heavyweights are in action at the Cardiff International Arena. Main card winners secure their spot in the PFL Finals.

PFL 8 will see Rory MacDonald and Dilano Taylor battle it out at welterweight. The winner of this fight meets the winner of Sadibou Sy vs. Carlos Leal. In the heavyweight division, Ante Delija meets Renan Ferreira. The winner of this fight meets the winner of Juan Adams vs. Matheus Scheffel.

MacDonald was due to face Magomed Umalatov but the latter failed to secure a UK visa. Scheffel was supposed to face Denis Goltsov, but Goltsov is also dealing with visa issues.

MacDonald made his pro debut in 2005. “Red King” is a former UFC welterweight title contender known for his fights against Robbie Lawler. After a stint at Bellator where he became the Bellator Welterweight Champion of the World, MacDonald joined the PFL in 2021. He’s 2-3 with the climb. This year he beat Brett Cooper by submission but lost to Sy by unanimous decision.

Taylor made his pro debut in 2019. “The Postman” made his PFL debut in February and is 2-1 on promotion. His last fight was a loss to Magomed Magomedkerimov.

Sy, 35, made his pro debut in 2013. He joined the PFL in 2018 and is 5-4-2 with a no-contest on promotion. Sy is 2-0 in 2022, beating Nikolay Aleksakhin and MacDonald. Leal made his pro debut in 2012. Leal, an LFA Welterweight Grand Prix champion, joined the PFL in 2022 via the Challenger Series. He beat Korey Kuppe, Chris Brown and former champion Ray Cooper III to progress.

Delija made his professional debut in 2011. He joined the PFL in 2021 and is 4-2 in promotion. Delija beat Matheus Scheffel and Shelton Graves this year. Ferreira made his pro debut in 2013 and joined the PFL in 2021. He KO’d Jamelle Jones but lost his last fight to Klidson Abreu.

Adams made his pro debut in 2017. A former UFC and Fury FC fighter, Adams fought in one bout for the PFL this year. He beat Sam Kei via TKO in June. Scheffel made his pro debut in 2012. Dana White’s former Contender Series graduate made his PFL debut in 2022. After losing to Delija, he beat Bruno Cappelozza in his last fight.

  • Start time: 12 p.m. ET | 5 p.m. CET
  • Main card: 2 p.m. ET | 7 p.m. CET
  • Main event: 4 p.m. ET | 9pm BST (approximate)
  • Qualification after the fight: 5 p.m. ET | 10pm BST (Approx.)

The 2022 PFL playoffs resume on August 13. The event begins at 12 p.m. ET | 5pm BST with heats followed by main card at 2pm ET | 7 p.m. CET. Rory MacDonald and Magomed Umalatov were supposed to make their way to the cage before 4pm ET | 9pm BST, depending on the pace and how long the other playoff fights last.

After that, there are post-event qualifiers.

In the United States, PFL 8 Prelims begin on ESPN+. The main map will air on ESPN and ESPN+.

In the UK, fans can watch the PFL Playoffs on Channel 4.

Where is 2022 PFL 8?

The second round of the 2022 PFL Playoffs will be held at the Cardiff International Arena in Wales. The arena can accommodate up to 7,500 people.

Odds for the PFL Playoffs 2022

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, Rory MacDonald is the -220 favorite while Dilano Taylor is the +170 underdog. Sadibou Sy is the -118 favorite while Carlos Leal is the -108 underdog.

Juan Adams is the -220 favorite while Matheus Scheffel is the +170 underdog. Renan Ferreira is the -128 favorite while Ante Delija is the +100 underdog.
