The automotive media site’s top three new midsize SUVs to buy in 2023 are the 2023 Kia Telluride, the 2023 Ford Bronco, and the 2023 Ford Bronco Raptor.

According to Car and Driver, the Kia Telluride 2023 is the best new mid-size SUV available in 2023. The Telluride also earned a spot on Car and Driver’s “10 Best Trucks and SUVs for 2023” list. The automotive side praised the mid-size SUV, stating that “a smooth V-6 engine, quiet interior and confident handling give the Telluride a refined feel on the road.”

Car and driver also highlighted the Telluride’s many standard features and maximum towing capacity of 5,500 pounds. In addition, the cabin is spacious and comfortable, and the upper panels “offer an almost luxurious experience.”

For the 2023 model year, the Telluride has a refreshed design. These include a new grille, bumpers, wheel designs, rear fascia and exterior lighting. In the cabin, the mid-size SUV offers massive dual 12.3-inch curved screens. Also, the cabin features a redesigned dashboard and steering wheel. Additionally, the Telluride has better off-road capabilities with the tough X-Line and X-Pro fairings.

2023 Ford Bronco is another good choice

The second model on the car and driver list of the best new midsize SUVs of 2023 is the 2023 Ford Bronco. Like the Kia Telluride, the Bronco has earned a spot on the automotive site’s “10 Best Trucks and SUVs for 2023” list. The reintroduction of the Bronco was an enormous success – with very high demand. The demand is so great that there is a long waiting list to get one.

Part of what makes the Bronco a great choice for a midsize SUV is that it has some serious off-road chops — but also performs well for on-road use. Car and driver said the Bronco has “a thoroughly livable drive” and is the “most exciting off-roader since the Jeep Wrangler.”

For off-road capability, the Bronco Raptor features a more advanced suspension setup than the standard model. The improved suspension is helpful for navigating rough terrain – or absorbing the impact of a jump through the air. In addition, the Bronco Raptor has a significantly wider track, which ensures more stable handling, especially when driving off-road at high speeds.
