NASCAR at Richmond live race updates, results, highlights from Federated Auto Parts 400
In the NASCAR Cup Series standings, a leader stands out from the pack.
Kyle Larson will start Sunday’s Federated Auto Parts 400 on pole position, while current championship leader Chase Elliott will start from 23rd place. However, Elliott has a somewhat commanding lead on the field with 847 points going into today’s race: his four wins and eight top-five finishes helped push him above second place where Ryan Blaney (728 points ) currently sitting.
Larson, currently fifth, has a short history at the short Richmond circuit. Earlier in the year he finished fifth at the 2022 Toyota Owners 400 in Richmond and sixth at the 2021 edition of the Federated Auto Parts 400. That story could bode well for another top finish to keep him in the championship hunt.
