How to Download Paramount+ Content to Watch Offline
Launching in March 2021, Paramount+ replaced CBS All Access, giving subscribers a better platform to enjoy the content they already know and love alongside great new original content.
Paramount+ offers over 30,000 episodes of content, much of which can be downloaded and viewed offline. In this article, we explain how to download Paramount+ content to watch offline, who can do this, and what problems you might encounter.
How to download Paramount+ content
Downloading Paramount+ content for offline viewing is a simple process. First, download the latest version of the Paramount+ app on the device where you want to view the content.
Once you’ve logged into your account, you can download content in two ways. You can just click on a show you want to download, find it Download arrowand click on it to start the download.
The other option is to select from More button in the lower right corner of the screen. Next, select Downloads.
This page will show you all downloaded content on your device. To download new content, select the button in the middle of this page that says Browse available videos.
This will take you to a list containing all the shows that can be downloaded from Paramount+. From here, follow the same process as option one.
Select the movie or show you want, then click Download arrow to start downloading.
The time it takes to download content to your device depends on the length of the selected show or film and the strength and speed of your internet connection. You can download multiple tracks at once, but how many tracks you download at once can also affect your download speed.
Once fully downloaded, the selected content will appear on your Downloads page and can be viewed offline by selecting the track on your account’s Downloads page.
Please note that while you can navigate away from the downloads page in the Paramount+ application, exiting the app completely will terminate all downloads.
Who can download content on Paramount+?
While downloading content is one of the reasons you should subscribe to Paramount+, not every plan offers this feature. Paramount+ offers two subscription plans, Elite and Premium, which cost $4.99/month and $9.99/month, respectively. Savings are available on annual subscriptions priced at $49.99/year for Elite and $99.99/year for Premium.
Unfortunately, only Paramount+ Premium subscribers can download content to watch offline. While Elite subscribers cannot download content, they can still upgrade their membership by visiting the Paramount+ website in a web browser. You cannot upgrade your plan through the Paramount+ app.
Additionally, premium users need an iPhone running iOS 13 or later, or an Android device running OS 5 or later. If your device has an older operating system, you will not be able to download content. Therefore, be sure to check your device’s operating system to avoid downloading problems.
What Paramount+ content is downloadable?
Paramount+ is one of the best streaming services that offers great classic content to watch and download. And while you can watch most of Paramount’s original shows and old favorites offline, not all content is available for download.
If a show or movie doesn’t have an arrow pointing down, it means the title isn’t available for download at this time.
At the time of writing, Paramount+ offers some of its top streaming content for download, including Paramount Originals like Star Trek: Picard and The Good Fight. It also features popular reality TV shows like Survivor, The Amazing Race, and Big Brother.
Paramount+ download limits
Downloads on Paramount+ remain on your device for 30 days or until you manually delete them from your list. If you start playing a downloaded track and don’t finish the content within 48 hours, it will be removed from your download library. You can download the title again; However, the app doesn’t save where you left off.
The streaming service allows a maximum of 25 downloads per device and caps the number of downloads of the same track across all your devices. It allows a maximum of five downloads of the same track per account at the same time.
How to fix download problems on Paramount+
The most common problems subscribers encounter when trying to download content from Paramount+ stem from outdated operating systems.
If you’re having trouble downloading content and you’re a Premium subscriber, make sure the device you’re using is running at least iOS 13 or Android OS 5. If you’re still having trouble, try updating your Paramount+ app.
The download is unsuccessful if you receive an “Insufficient Disk Space” notification when attempting to download content. In this case, you have exceeded the download storage of your device.
To fix this problem, you need to erase all content from your device to make room for new shows or movies. You can do this by deleting other titles downloaded from Paramount+ or deleting content from other applications on the device, such as e.g. photos or videos.
If you would like to delete a downloaded title from your library in the Paramount+ app, go to More > Downloads, and find the track you want to delete. Then swipe left on the title. Next select the Extinguish Symbol.

Ultimately, Paramount+ is an excellent resource for those who want to download content to watch offline. Its easy-to-use app offers classics, fan favorites, and originals to stream or download. While not every show and movie is available, you’ll likely find something you want to watch later without using up your data.
