Transfer news LIVE: Real Madrid to use Casemiro cash on Bellingham, Cristiano Ronaldo LATEST with Sporting Lisbon offer
Good morning football fans
Marseille have turned down the opportunity to sign superstar Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
Ronaldo has been trying to force an escape from Old Trafford since returning from an extended summer break but is struggling to find a new team.
L’OM were the latest club to express interest in signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winners but are no longer considering a deal.
According to RMC Sport, the Ligue 1 side have no intention of signing him.
It’s another heavy blow for the Portugal captain who is keen to return to the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Everton ace Dele Alli has agreed to a season-long loan from Besiktas in the summer.
According to Italian reporter Rudy Galetti, Alli has decided to try his luck in Turkey after a difficult few years at Tottenham and the Toffees.
The deal includes a £6million purchase option, meaning Besiktas could sign the midfielder permanently if the loan spell is successful.
The former England international is said to be keen on the prospect of a move as he looks to return to his old form, which saw him twice crowned PFA Young Player of the Year.
And United, Liverpool as well as Chelsea have dealt a blow in the pursuit of Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.
That’s because Real Madrid are set to land Bellingham with his £70million Casemiro windfall after the midfielder joined United.
According to Marca, the Red Devils have effectively prevented themselves from signing the midfielder any time soon.
The England international, who is also linked with the Blues and Reds, is a top target for Real.
Los Blancos were already targeting a move for the 19-year-old next year.
But with an extra £70m in the coffers from Casemiro’s exit, the La Liga champions are now more confident than ever of having enough money to sign Bellingham ahead of United, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Finally, United will make a final push to sign Barcelona star Frenkie de Jong, who is also targeted by Chelsea.
The Red Devils have been chasing De Jong all summer and even agreed a £72m deal with Barca.
However, they were unsuccessful in their attempts to lure the midfielder into the deal, which was complicated by money still owed to the player.
The Blaugrana are under increasing financial pressure having failed to sign Jules Kounde for the summer and need at least one big sale to ease their burden.
According to journalist Marcel van der Kraan, the Red Devils will try their luck again with the Netherlands international with further funds available if necessary
