How to post a video to your Instagram story

To post a video to your story and share it on your profile:


  1. Under the post, tap Split Icon (the paper plane).


  2. Beat Add a role to your story.


  3. Add stickers, text, or anything else you want to add, then tap Your story at the bottom.

  4. Go back to the Home tab and tap Your story.


  5. Beat To mark.


  6. Beat New or select an album to add it to.

  7. Enter a name for the marker and tap Add to.


  8. Beat Finished or View in profile. On your profile, your highlights appear above your posts. Tap the marker with the video to view it.

Record screen and post Instagram videos

If you want to share a video as a regular post, you can record your screen while watching the video, save the recording, and then upload it to Instagram. With this method, you can crop and edit the video to your liking before posting it. Just make sure you give credit to the original creator.




Repost Instagram videos with the Repost app

Repost for Instagram is a third-party app that allows you to repost videos on your Instagram profile. Here’s how:


  1. In the Instagram app, tap the three points in the top right corner of the video.


  2. Beat shortcut to copy the video link.


  3. Download the Repost for Instagram app. Once downloaded, tap the icon to open it.

  4. The app should automatically detect the copied link. You may have to wait a few seconds. Tap the Video thumbnail when it appears in the app.


  5. Beat Post to feed.


  6. Beat To allow When prompted to allow access to your device media.

  7. The video will open in the Instagram app. Beat Next.


  8. Add a caption or anything else you want to include and tap Split. The video will appear as the original post on your profile.
