Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Move Faster

the village a Disney Dreamlight Valley is a big place, especially as players unlock more biomes for villagers to roam around in. While fast travel is possible via the fountains in each biome, they all take time to unlock and are very expensive because Scrooge McDuck sets outrageously high prices for everything.

So a cheaper way to get around the map in the meantime would be for players to increase their movement speed. There is only one method for players to do this and this guide will show how it can be done and how effective it is when looking for other resources like Iron Ore.

This is how you move faster

To get in faster Disney Dreamlight Valley, players must eat meals in the game. This doesn’t include things like just picking an apple and eating it. Players must take some of the ingredients they have collected and prepare one of the many meals available in the game. A fish sandwich would be a good example of this. Eating a meal grants players a buff called Well-Fed in the lower-right corner of the screen.

This buff increases movement speed while also filling the energy bar beyond normal capacity. To get the buff, players must ensure the meal is eaten when their energy bar is almost full. This allows the energy bar to fill beyond the normal maximum and players will see a yellow energy bar when they are full. This method allows more energy derived from food to go into the yellow bar than the standard blue bar.

How effective is the movement speed increase?

Aside from the running animation of Disney Dreamlight Valley Players faster, the movement speed increase provides a noticeable advantage in how quickly players can move around the valley. For example, going from the edge of the plaza by the fountain to the shore of Dazzle Beach takes about 22 seconds without increased movement speed. However, with the buff active, it only lasts about 18 seconds. That extra speed certainly helps along with the extra energy for the energy bar.

Does eating a meal with more stars increase movement speed further?

Unfortunately, there is no difference in the buff when players eat a meal that has more stars. So whether it’s Ratatouille or Crudite, the buff is the same. The only thing that changes is how much energy is restored from the meal.

When does the Well Fed buff expire?

Disney Dreamlight Valley Players should be aware that the buff will eventually expire. As they engage in activities that consume energy (like fishing, mining, etc.), the yellow energy bar will gradually deplete. When blue energy is consumed, it means the buff is gone and players need to eat another meal if they want the Well Fed buff back.

Is there an advantage to completely filling the well-fed energy bar?

Eating multiple meals at once to max out the Well-Fed Energy Bar will only change how long they have the Well-Fed Buff and associated movement speed increase. There are no additional energy bars other than the normal blue bar and the yellow bar for Well Fed. However, the increase in movement speed from the buff is significant. Players who want to get in faster Disney Dreamlight Valley should go back to their house and use their stove and cook up a delicious meal.

Disney Dreamlight Valley is now available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
