Blonde is a fictional take on the life of actress Marilyn Monroe, based on the book of the same name by Joyce Carol Oates. The film follows Norma Jeane Mortenson’s transformation into film star Marilyn Monroe in 1950s Hollywood. As Monroe’s career soars, Blonde explores the contrast between behind-the-scenes exploitation and addiction and the star’s on-screen performance.

Director/writer Andrew Dominik’s NC-17 rated film was shot primarily in black and white with certain segments in color. The supporting cast are Adrien Brody (“The Pianist”), Bobby Cannavale (“Third Watch”), Xavier Samuel (“Adore”) and Julianne Nicholson (“August: Osage County”).
