Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to get Moonstones quickly
Disney Dreamlight Valley features a premium currency called Moonstones that can be used to unlock the premium tier of the game’s Seasonal Passes. The first season is called Pixar Fest and ends on October 11th.
Iconic memorabilia from Pixar’s most popular franchises can be unlocked through this event, including Miguel’s guitar from Coco, Elastigirl’s super suit, a Lightning McQueen racing bed, a Space Ranger suit display (from toy story) and much more. So what’s the easiest way to unlock these nostalgic items? Well, it’s not a piece of cake, but with a bit of dedication, you’ll win more than enough to get your favorite furniture and clothes.
The best way to get moonstones in Disney Dreamlight Valley
You’re probably expecting some cheap trick or game-changing bug that will help you earn moonstones fast. After all, there has to be a way to farm it in-game, right? Well, that’s not entirely true. I managed to collect a total of 550 moonstones in almost 30 hours of gameplay, with 500 of them coming from rewards provided by the event itself.
There is no easy way to unlock moonstones in the game and the amount you earn is insignificant. However, everyone who bought the game in Early Access received 8,000 moonstones at the start. You’re probably wondering if the Pixar Fest pass is even remotely worth it, as you’ll likely want to save your currency for future passes.
If you take a close look at the Season Pass, you’ll see that you can acquire a total of 2,175 moonstones: 500 are awarded in the free tier, while you get 1,675 in the premium tier. If you spend 2,500 moonstones on the pass, you can get a total of 2,175 in addition to the goodies you get from playing in the game (admittedly not very much).
As mentioned above, Pixar Fest offers 500 moonstones on the free tier. This means that if you’re not a big fan of a particular season, you can skip the premium pass and earn back some moonstones by sticking with the free tier. Keep in mind that this is entirely subjective and depends on what parts of the Disney universe you prefer and the quality of future seasons.
Assuming each pass offers the same number of moonstones (and costs the same each time), you’ll only lose 325 moonstones per season investing in the premium pass. With the 8,000 moonstones provided for purchasing the early access bundle, you could take part in almost twenty seasons.
Obviously, from the get-go this will require you to commit to completing these passes, but honestly they’re not too bad to complete (although sometimes it takes a bit of luck). So if you want to get as many moonstones as possible, here are the easiest ways to unlock seasonal currency.
The best way to get seasonal currency in Disney Dreamlight Valley
1. Open your main menu, go to incident page and select tasks. Each player will see something completely different in this menu, so it will be difficult for me to give precise instructions on what to do and what not to do. Use your own judgment to determine which of these would be the easiest to complete.
2. At first glance at the image above, there’s a solid mix of easy and not-so-easy tasks here. Catching fish, selling flowers and preparing meals with fruits should be a breeze. However, I’m a little less sure about mining topazes, pan-frying fried bass and vegetables, and giving characters their favorite gifts, so I’ll avoid those for now.
3. I recommend starting with what seems easiest. For me, cooking was with fruit. It usually only takes a few minutes for these types of tasks, especially if they require an ingredient. I queued the fruit salad recipe and clicked the autofill button, which sped up the process.
4. I managed to complete this duty in three minutes. With the 15 seasonal currencies I just earned (in addition to the 10 I already had from previous quests), I quickly went up to 25 in a short amount of time.
5. Replacing this duty is now a little more difficult. “Give WALL-E Favorite Gifts” is very specific. It can’t be done in one day either, as favorite gifts reset every 24 hours. Basically, I had no choice but to do this over a long period of time.
However, I still have two tasks that can be easily combined. Catching fish and cooking fried bass and vegetables can be combined to save time. Bass can only be fished in Peaceful Meadow, Forest of Valor, Sunlit Plateau, and Frosted Heights, meaning you can kill two birds with one stone.
6. Do this as smartly as possible. It’s not going to happen quickly, but if you’re dedicated enough and adopt a “work smarter, not harder” mentality, doing it over the course of a season shouldn’t be too bad. After just one night of work (starting from unlocking the pass that same night) I quickly managed to get a majority of the moonstones in the first five tiers and got most of my investment back.
7. Sometimes you will be given tasks that are not very easy to do, such as B. mine topazes, sell garlic or catch tuna. You can traverse them without much effort.
8th. You will also (sometimes) find moonstones while playing of course. It doesn’t happen often, and even when it does, the amount is negligible. You can see my character in the image above discovering a chest with 10 whole moonstones inside. Wow! Only 2,490 left.
