Round six of the UEFA Nations League begins on Sunday as teams attempt to qualify for the semi-finals while others look to fine-tune their squads ahead of the knockout stages.

Group A1

Denmark suffered an untimely defeat against Croatia last Thursday. Despite Marcus Eriksen leveling the scores in the 77th minute, a late Croatian secured them a 2-1 lead, securing first place on their own. The Danes are now 3-2-0 in the Nations League and only one point behind Croatia.

The French team has been disappointing this season to say the least. After losing to the Danes in the first game of the season and drawing with Croatia. They have batted and drawn with Austria and lost to Croatia which sent them to third place. If France didn’t win and Austria upset Croatia, France would be relegated to League B in 2024-25.

For the Danes to reach the semi-finals they need to either draw or beat France on Sunday and Croatia need to lose to Austria for the second time this season. A draw in Croatia would require Denmark to win to advance.

Although Denmark won the first meeting in June, France has an all-time record of 8-5-2 against the Danes.

The Netherlands Derby determines who advances from Group 4 to League A.

The Netherlands go into Sunday with an advantage. After a 2-0 win over Poland on Thursday, the Netherlands lead the group 4-0-1, three points ahead of Belgium. To their credit, they were quick with possession and calculated in their attack, resulting in 13 goals in their first five games.

Belgium were also victorious on their return to the UNL fixture on Thursday, only coming away with a 2-1 win over Wales after conceding a goal in the second half. Since losing their first game of the season, the Belgians have won three of their last four and advanced to the last game of the group stage with a 3-1-1 record.

For the Belgians to make the leap to first place, the Dutch must win by at least three goals as they would win the tie-breaker on goals scored.

In the derby’s history, the two countries have met 128 times, with the Dutch holding a 56-41-31 record, including a 4-1 in their first UNL clash of the season.
