How To Start Playing Session: Skate Sim
Session: Skate Sim is exactly what it promises: an adrenaline-pumping open-end skate simulation game that wraps the golden age of skateboarding in an elaborate concrete jungle. Thanks to its world-class innovations and next-gen physics, aspiring boarders can immerse themselves in an open world that allows for complete creative control without limits.
As with any sports simulation game that dares to change the blueprint, learning to master the controls can be a drain. However, if you persevere, anyone can start threading gnarly lines and idyllic skate spots together for others to scrawl and copy. The question is how do you start your boarding journey? Well, here’s everything you should consider before starting Session: Skate Sim.
learn to ride
The first thing you will notice when stepping onto your board are the controls. Turns out they’re unrelated to the ones introduced in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, Skater XL, or any other arcade-style skateboarding game. Just learning to ride is a challenge in itself, so remember that you’ll need to put in some work before threading any tricks together. And with that comes natural learn to ride.
Think of the two joysticks as your feetand the triggers are the wheels on the board. If you’re aware of that, then you’re already halfway to popping ollies and countless other tricks. Learning how to just ride along is the bread and butter of skating, and you’ll be thankful you know how to do it when it comes to navigating rough terrain and dangerous locations. With that, you should consider spending the first one 20 minutes poking around New York City just to get a feel for your board.
The pin is your best friend
Once you’ve managed to get into the swing of things, you’ll probably want to establish your first line. Just find a spot anywhere in New York City, Philadelphia, or San Francisco and create pins. Doing this allows you to retry a line in case you fall or screw up the trick you’re trying to land. You can create a pin by pressing the D-Pad. To return to your pin, simply tap up on the directional pad.
The thing to take away from learning how to master a line is this: Tricks go wrong, and you will fall again and again. The idea is not to let that get you down and hold on to the line you have laid out for yourself. And if the onboard is too much for you, just do it Mark it on your map for laterand find another place to skate until you brush up on a few extra tricks.
Don’t be afraid to turn on the trick gauge
Unless you’re a born and raised skateboarder, you’re going to have trouble understanding the tricks you’re supposed to be performing. And no, thanks to the complexity of the controls, performing even the simplest of tricks can require a pretty hands-on approach. Fortunately, however, there is one trick display Menu where you can see the names of the tricks you randomly pull from the bag. Knowing what tricks to do and memorizing the moves You landed them earlier, the key to completing missions will be much later.
To turn on the trick display, just go into your Menuthen select optionsand then advertisement. You can enable the trick display feature from here to give you a clearer picture of what you’re doing when you’re out on the board. This will be your best friend for the first few hours of play, so don’t be afraid to turn it on while you learn the lingo and get the basics down.
Capture everything
There’s nothing quite like landing a perfect combo in Session: Skate Sim, and that’s exactly why you should quell the sense of accomplishment for all it’s worth by reliving the moment Replay Editor. Because you’re able to document every trick and line through the fisheye lens that follows you, you can guarantee you’ll always have some footage to play around with in post-production.
How it is no scoring system in Session: Skate Sim, the only thing to brag about is the footage you shoot, not the number of points you may or may not have previously scored. So if you happen to land something even remotely worth bragging about, then be sure to check out the replay editor and Save your best clips. Although there is no online multiplayer or community center so players can witness your live recordings, you can Share your clips on your chosen platformbe it Xbox, PlayStation or PC.
Edit, edit, edit!
While you’ll (literally) devote most of your time to the grind, you’ll also become comfortable with the replay editor. And just to expand on the previous point: Capturing footage is crucial. However, unless you learn how to spice it up and add some nifty effects to your clips, you’ll soon find that despite the tricks you’ve stringed together, the data isn’t particularly interesting to look at.
If you go into the replay editor and exhaust the area you want to split, be sure to do so Experiment with all the tools the suite has to offer. In addition to the usual cutting tools, it can also be used to add additional filters and change camera angles. The goal here is Make your footage look the way it’s humanly possible. So go big with that fisheye lens and scrape together a demo that would make even Rodney Mullen blush.
Learn the bus routes
As tempting as it is to gallop through New York City, Philadelphia, and San Francisco on four wheels, the fact is, it’s not a comfortable way to travel. the good news is public transport existswhich means you can get around without having to fall from one place to the next while dodging inanimate objects and whatever.
The easiest way from A to B would be about bus stops. However, you need to learn the route the bus travels, how there is no official map in Session: Skate Sim. The closest thing to a map is the one at each bus stop. So, be sure to walk around and learn the bus route. Once you crack it, you can level up and go anywhere without any unwanted problems.
Don’t forget your apartment
Another way to travel between the three US cities would be through yours apartment. When you come back here, you can choose your next skate spot, which gives you a number of options on where to start the next stage of your skating career. Visit your apartment regularlyas you can also unearth additional hidden locations to explore and skate.
You can access it three apartments in Session: Skate Sim: NYC, Philadelphiaand san Francisco. You don’t have to do anything special to unlock these apartments and you can enter them from the moment you travel. To cycle between the three apartments, open yours Menu and click select map. By default, you end up in the New York City apartment, but you can switch back and forth between the three Tap either left or right on the D-Pad.
