• The Stars meet the Winnipeg Jets at the American Airlines Center on Monday night for the first of three meetings between the clubs this season.
• Dallas, who posted a 3-0-1 record against the Jets in 2021-22, enters the competition Monday after winning three straight games against Winnipeg.

• Forward Roop Hintz scored two goals and one assist (2-1-2) in Saturday night’s home game between Dallas and Nashville.
• Hintz scored his first goal of the game on penalties for the sixth shorthanded marker of his career.
• Hintz ranked seventh in the NHL with three shorthanded goals and ninth in the league in 2021-22 with four shorthanded points, leading Dallas in every category. He scored two shorthanded goals against St. Louis on November 20, 2021, becoming the first player in Dallas Stars history (since 1993) to score two shorthanded goals in the same game and the first in franchise history since Neal Broten on December 3, 1998.
• With points in each of his first two games this season, Hintz is the club’s top spot with four points (2-2–4) this season.
• Last season, the Finn from Tampere finished second with 37 goals at Dallas and third with 72 points (37-35–72), setting new career bests in both categories. He also marked new career records with nine power-play goals, 24 power-play points and seven game-winning goals.

In it for the long haul

• defender Miro Heiskanen scored Dallas’ first goal (1-1–2) from the blueline this season during Saturday’s home game against Nashville.
• The 23-year-old led the club with 23:21 ice time on Saturday night and finished eighth of all league skaters with an average of 25:07 in the first two games of the season.
• Last season, Heiskanen tied for 14th in the league and led Dallas with an average ice time of 24:53.
• A native of Espoo, Finland, he finished last season with 36 points (5-31–36) in 70 games, setting a new career high. He ranked second among Dallas defenders in assists (31) and points and third among the club’s blueliners in goals (5). He added three goals and 11 points (3-9–11) on the power play and recorded his first goal in overtime.
