The PGA Tour returns to the United States this week for the 2022 CJ Cup in South Carolina. Here’s everything you need to know to watch the tournament.
CJ Cup Preview
In 2021-2022, Rory McIlroy had one of the best seasons of his career, winning three times, amassing 10 top-10 finishes and appearing at all four majors, with his worst major finish being 8th place at the PGA Championship. He ended up winning the FedEx Cup title and his $18 million bonus. But it all started for Rory at the 2021 CJ Cup, where he clinched his then 20th PGA Tour victory.
Now McIlroy is back to start a new PGA Tour season as the defending champion, but although he won that tournament last year, it was played at a different venue, the Summit Club in Las Vegas. This year, the CJ Cup goes to South Carolina’s Congaree Golf Club instead.
At Congaree, McIlroy will take on what is by far the strongest field of the new season, with the likes of world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick and Jordan Spieth choosing to serve this week.
Golf Channel will provide exclusive TV coverage of the CJ Cup, and Golfchannel.com and NBCSports.com will stream the action online.
