How to Turn On Autocorrect

You can enable autocorrect on Android using the keyboard settings for your specific keyboard. You can find the function in your device settings on Windows, iPhone and iPad. On the Mac, the feature is in System Preferences. In Microsoft Word, enable the function under “Word Options”.

How you turn on autocorrect on Android depends on the phone model you’re using. In most cases, you can find the option in your phone or keyboard settings.

Here we have covered the steps to enable autocorrect on Samsung phones with Samsung Keyboard and Gboard.

Enable autocorrect on a Samsung phone

If you are using Samsung Keyboard on your Samsung Android phone, you can enable autocorrect feature by following the steps below.

Open Settings on your phone and select “General Management”.

Access "General Administration" in the settings.

Tap “Samsung Keyboard Settings”.

Choose "Samsung keyboard settings."

Select “Replace automatically”.

Beat "Replace automatically."

Turn on the option.

Activate the option.

Enable autocorrect in Gboard

To enable autocorrect in Gboard, tap a text field or text editor to open your keyboard. Then tap the gear icon at the top of your open keyboard.

You will land on a “Settings” page. Select “Text Correction” here.

Choose "text correction."

On the Text Correction page, turn on AutoCorrect.

Turn on autocorrect on Windows

Microsoft Windows offers an autocorrect feature, but unlike other devices, it doesn’t work in all apps. You can use the feature in some apps installed from the official Microsoft Store.

To turn it on, launch Settings by pressing Windows + i. Then select “Devices”.

Access "Devices" in the settings.

From the sidebar on the left, select Input. Then, in the right pane, turn on Auto-Correct Misspelled Words.

Enable "Autocorrect misspelled words."

Windows now corrects typos in your text in supported apps.

Turn on autocorrect on iPhone and iPad

To enable your iPhone or iPad’s autocorrect feature, launch Settings on your phone.

Select “General” in the settings.

Beat "General" in the settings.

On the General page, select Keyboard.

Choose "Keyboard."

On the Keyboards screen, toggle AutoCorrect.

The Mac also offers an autocorrect feature that you can use to fix spelling mistakes.

To enable this feature, go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Keyboard > Text. Then turn on “Correct spelling automatically”.

Turn on autocorrect in Microsoft Word

Microsoft Word has its own autocorrect feature that you can use to correct any typos in your documents.

To enable it, launch Word and select “Options” in the left sidebar.

Choose "options" in the left sidebar.

In the left sidebar of the Word Options window, click Check. Then select “AutoCorrect Options” in the right pane.
