Two of the NBA’s best scorers go head-to-head when Jayson Tatum and the Celtics travel to Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum to take on Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks.
Both players have been in MVP form this season as Antetokounmpo sits third in the league with 32.4 points per game while Tatum sits just behind Giannis in sixth place with 30.5 points per game.
These teams will face off for the second time this season after the Celtics won Christmas Day’s clash 139-118. Tatum made the difference in that game, scoring 41 points to lead the Celtics to victory.
This game has massive reputation implications as the Bucks (39-17) are hot on the heels of the Eastern Conference leaders Celtics (41-16). The only problem is the large cloud of injuries hanging over the Celtics. According to the team’s most recent injury report, Boston will be without Jaylen Brown (fractured face), Danilo Gallinari (ACL repair) and Marcus Smart (right ankle sprain).
The report also questioned Robert Williams III (left ankle pain) and Grant Williams (right elbow swelling). Most important to the Celtics: Jayson Tatum is listed as doubtful with a non-COVID medical condition.
