What is NFL’s latest body scan measurement? NFL experimenting major change ahead of 2023 Combine

The NFL could make changes to some of its protocols during the combine process. From now on every athlete will be measured by height, weight, wingspan and hand size. But human measurement could soon be a thing of the past.

When it comes to choosing between Addison and Flowers, size and arm length might matter to me. Both very good. both are made too small according to my model if they come under 5-9 1/2. This could also affect their arm length. I’ll be glued to that #NFLCOMBINE

The National Football League is investigating a body-scanning technology that would allow athletes to step on a scanner, much like those used in airports. During the process, each athlete would be measured and even given a body mass index (BMI).

Not only would that be more convenient for everyone, but it would also save a lot of time. The League has been researching for the last two years to constantly look for ways to improve the Combine process.

The HBCU Combine took place last week and its accuracy proved spot on. The National Football League will conduct another accuracy test in the near future, and if everything continues to move in a positive direction, body scan technology will be used for the 2024 NFL Combine.

In recent years, the NFL has also turned to telemedicine resources to conduct pre-combine assessments with athletes who have had prior injuries. This limits the amount of physical exams and imaging that may be required during the combination process.
