SEC women’s basketball tournament bracket: Full TV schedule, scores, results for 2023 conference tourney
There is probably little doubt as to who will take home the SEC tournament championship title. But with March Madness on the horizon, anything can happen.
South Carolina (29-0, 16-0 SEC) played a massive and threatening game. The last time a team went undefeated was in the 2015-16 season when the UConn women knocked down the nets with a 38-0 aggregate record for their fourth NCAA championship title.
Gamecocks senior guard Brea Beal and senior forward Aliyah Boston are Semifinalists for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award; and Boston won another SEC Player of the Week award—this is her fourth this season, making her the conference’s only record-holder for weekly career aggregate honors at 15 and career player of the week— Honors with 10 makes .
LSU (27-1, 15-1 SEC) are neck and neck with South Carolina, the Gamecocks’ first and only loss of the season comes on Feb. 12.
Tigers forward sophomore Angel Reese was Boston’s assistant player of the week, her seventh of the history-making season. She was also on Sunday night against Mississippi State first SEC player in the NCAA era with two career 26-plus rebound games. Reese is also on the list of semi-finalists for the Naismith Defensive Player of the Year award.
