Legend of Will Levis: Why NFL Draft prospect puts mayo in his coffee, eats bananas whole
General managers, scouts and fans still have many unanswered questions about Kentucky QB Will Levis.
Levis has often been mentioned in the same breath as Bryce Young and CJ Stroud, although he didn’t have nearly the same college production. He fascinates NFL front offices with his arm strength, mechanics, and stature that emulates some of the league’s most accomplished quarterbacks today.
Still, Levis is a lesser known commodity than Young and Stroud as the NFL draft nears, having thrown 23 interceptions in two seasons as a starter for Kentucky.

A lot of these questions aren’t answered until we see Levis on an NFL field, and that’s okay. For now, we’re set to answer equally pressing questions off the field about some of Levi’s most bizarre eating habits.
Why does Will Levis put mayo in his coffee?
Yes, Levis puts mayo in their coffee like it’s milk or cream. He told Kentucky Sports Radio that out of curiosity, the training began while eating with his girlfriend at a restaurant.
According to Levis, his girlfriend jokingly suggested that mayo be on the table because some people might put it in their coffee. Some would answer with a laugh. Levis responded by trying.
In July, he put his money where his mouth is and drank coffee with mayonnaise on camera.
Unfortunately, Levis didn’t lose a bet. He just likes the taste of mayo in his coffee, by all accounts. It’s the kind of habit that makes Patrick Mahomes’ affinity for ketchup on everything from steak to mac-and-cheese seem perfectly normal by comparison.

If Levis can be a long-term starting quarterback in the NFL, teams will be happy to live with his fondness for mayo. It’s just a shame he never got a chance to play the Duke’s Mayo Bowl in Kentucky.
Why is Will Levis eating whole bananas?
Before anyone knew of his fateful combination of coffee and mayonnaise, another of Levi’s habits raised eyebrows.
Weeks before his Kentucky debut in 2021, Levis posted a TikTok video of himself eating a whole banana — peel and all. Not only did he eat the shell, but the shell was almost completely brown.
“I’m not afraid of the brown spots on bananas. They fear me,” Levis captioned the video.
Levis opened up about the habit in a 2022 interview with Barstool Sports, admitting, “I definitely still eat the bananas with the skin on from time to time.”

Levis said he eats bananas both ways and “didn’t think much about it” when he posted the video, but said he heard fans trying to troll him about his banana eating.
Banana peels are not only edible, but also contain many nutrients and vitamins. It’s not common to eat the peel because it lacks an appealing flavor and is difficult to chew, but Levis is obviously willing to ignore the downsides.
If he turns out to be the top quarterback in that draft class, Levis could inspire some other young athletes to go all-in with banana peels.
