Tim Hortons Brier 2023 playoffs: TV channel, schedule, format, scores for men’s curling championship
Pool play at Tim Hortons Brier 2023 is complete and six teams are still in contention to be crowned the 2023 Canada Men’s Curling Champion.
The field that survived the group stage has advanced to the playoffs, where not only a significant cash prize awaits at the end, but also a ticket to the LGT World Men’s Curling Championship 2023.
Brad Gushue and his Team Canada crew remain the favorites to enter the playoff portion of the competition. Gushue won the competition last season and has been the Brier Champion four of the last six seasons.

2023 Brier Playoff format
The top three teams from each pool advanced from pool play to the Brier’s playoffs.
The No. 2 team in Pool A faced the No. 3 team in Pool B and the No. 2 team in Pool B faced the No. 3 team in Pool A to determine who advanced to the sides playoffs. The #1 seeds received byes.
This is how the side playoff works. It determined the champion:
- In Game 1, the third and fourth place teams play against each other. The loser is eliminated.
- In game 2, the first and second place winners play against each other. The winner qualifies directly for the final.
- In game 3 (semi-finals), the winner of game 1 plays against the loser of game 2. The loser is eliminated.
- Game 4 (the final) is then played between the winners of games 2 and 3.

Where will Brier 2023 take place?
The 42nd edition of the tournament will be held at the Budweiser Gardens in London, Ontario. The arena is home to the OHL’s London Knights.
This was the third time London had hosted the Brier, having previously held the event in 1874 and 2011.
What is the purse for the 2023 Brier?
The 18 teams compete for a share of a $300,000 prize pool.
Here is the prize money breakdown for the event:
1: $100,000
2nd: $60,000
3rd: $40,000
Championship Pool (4th-8th): $15,000
Non-Championship Pool (9th-18th): $2,500
In addition to the $100,000, the winner of the Brier 2023 will represent Canada at the 2023 LGT World Men’s Curling Championship. This tournament will be held in Ottawa in early April.
