Businesses across the Northwest have announced a slew of top hires and promotions over the past seven days.
Law firms, a social housing consortium and a tech unicorn have also made big strides.

MLP law
MLP Law has appointed a new litigation partner.
The Altrincham-headquartered firm has appointed Shaista Kauser to lead its litigation practice with a mandate to expand the team.
She has a 23-year career in commercial litigation and worked in numerous major law firms before establishing her own practice in 2006.
She said: “MLP Law is on an exciting growth trajectory and I look forward to building its litigation practice in the years to come.

JV North
The North West Social House Building Consortium JV North has appointed a new Chair
John Bowker, Executive Director of Operations at Stockport Homes Group, succeeds Wayne Gales, who has been in office since 2018.
Mr. Bowker will take office on April 1, having been appointed to the role at JV North’s last board meeting.
Wythenshawe Community Housing Group’s senior development director, Andrea Lowman, has been appointed vice chair.
CMAC group
Lancashire-based CMAC Group has made two appointments.
Sinead Blackledge and Ryan Cooper have joined the group in senior positions.
Chief Operating Officer Neil Micklethwaite said: “The Quality and Training team is a new investment for the CMAC Group and will help us translate into practical action the company’s strategic commitment to the highest quality of service and customer satisfaction. Sinead and Ryan will play a key role in equipping CMAC team members to provide world-class service and support.”
FW capital
FW Capital have expanded their North West team with the appointment of Caroline Turley from Liverpool.
Her role includes providing funds from the Northern Powerhouse Fund (NPIF) to support growth plans for businesses in the Liverpool City area, which includes St Helens, Widnes and Warrington.
FW Capital has recently secured an additional £9.48 million in funding under the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund.
She said: “I am delighted to be working again with companies across the region and will focus on supporting those based in the Liverpool City region, which includes St Helens, Widnes and Warrington.
“It’s a very exciting time of innovation and growth for the region. I understand the challenges business owners face and the importance of working with organizations that take the time to learn about a business.”
The Wild Boar Inn
A new head brewer has taken up residence at a traditional Cumbrian pub to oversee the installation of new equipment and an increase in production of locally brewed beers.
The Wild Boar Inn near Windermere has recruited Lukasz Zalewski from Staveley to run their own microbrewery, Brewhouse.
Lukasz, formerly head brewer at Windermere Brewing Co, will have full responsibility for running the site, which produces ales such as Mad Pig, Hogshead 54 and Smoked Porter.
Intelligent Conversation
Manchester-based PR agency Intelligent Conversation has appointed Jessica Hardman as head of Public Information and Consumer practice.
She previously spent over a decade with Finn in Leeds where she was operations manager.

Advice for fresh thinking
Fresh Thinking Advisory has appointed Oliver Reece as Managing Director.
Mr. Reece will lead a team operating across the Northwest to provide debt advisory services to a wide range of businesses.

UrbanChain
Manchester-based company UrbanChain has hired three new employees.
The company behind creating a renewables-only energy market has also announced a recruitment drive after receiving a £430,000 funding boost from the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero.
Gemma Scott joined us as Finance Manager from real estate consultancy Turley Associates.
Operations analyst Helena Mapals has joined from Yorkshire Gas and Power while junior data scientist Atiqa Aziz, who previously worked for Yorkshire Energy, has joined the team.
Woodcock’s Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors
A solicitor with over 50 years’ experience has joined Woodcocks Haworth and Nuttall Solicitors (WHN), a law firm in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, as a Senior Consultant.
Phil Bellamy joined WHN from positions at Rowlands Solicitors, where he held various positions between 1971 and 2011, including Senior Partner. His professional experience also includes 11 years at Linder Myers, where he was principal counsel.
Based in WHN’s Bury office, he will support the firm’s growing commercial property client base in Greater Manchester and Lancashire, as well as advise on the firm’s residential portfolio.
Plus Dane housing
Congleton-based Plus Dane Housing has announced Jessica McKinlay as its new Finance Director.
She will take up the position in early April and was previously Head of Finance at VIVO Defense Services.
She started her career with the NHS before holding managerial positions at Merseyrail and Liverpool ACC.
She said: “I am excited to join the Plus Dane Housing team and work for an organization committed to making real social change in a region close to my heart.”
Matillion
Headquartered in Altrincham, Matillion has hired Narayan Menon as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
Mr. Menon brings over 25 years of finance and operations experience having held key positions at various companies including Microsoft, Skype, Cisco, Intuit, Prezi and Vimeo.
He said: “As someone who applies data and analytics to almost everything I do at work, I am acutely aware of the importance of data – and how the lack of actionable data can hinder a business.
