Sam Goodman defeats Ra’eese Aleem

Australian super bantamweight Sam Goodman secured a world title with a skillful boxing performance, earning a split decision victory (116-112, 117-111, 112-116) over the experienced Aleem.

In a hard fought bout with few real hot spots, Goodman was the stronger of the pair, taking the majority of rounds in the back half of the bout after a tight opener.

Aleem seemed to falter in the later rounds and Goodman used the best of it to improve to 15-0 and earn the biggest win of his career, giving Aleem his first loss.

Hassan Hamdan defeats Justin Frost

Hamdan earned a unanimous decision victory (40-36 x3) over Frost in an abbreviated fight.

The fight was stopped at the end of the fourth round after a head impact caused a bad laceration over Hamdan’s left eye.

Hamdan had been the more active and precise fighter before the doctor intervened.

After the fight, Hamdan said he would take on Frost in a rematch and vowed to stop him if they met again.

Rocky Ogden defeats Mark Schleibs

Ogden landed his third first-round knockout in four fights to date.

The pair were hot after tempers flared at the open training sessions earlier in the week, but it was Ogden who showed he was too good from the start.

Schleibs was knocked down twice before another powerful right hand brought him down and the referee waved the fight off.

Ogden is 6-0 as a professional.

Vegas Larfield defeats Jhunrille Castino

Rising super bantamweight Larfield repels the challenge of powerful Filipino Castino by unanimous decision (59-55 x2, 60-54) to remain undefeated.

Castino started aggressively and had some moments of success, but Larfield had taken control by the third lap.

The Aussie stayed busy, dodging most of Castino’s excitement to secure victory and complete the preliminary rounds.

Troy Pilcher defeats Hasely Hepi

Pilcher secures Queensland heavyweight title with second stop in first round after two fights.

Hepi had a rousing strike, a nod to his Maori heritage, but it was of no use once the fight began.

A right-hand pilcher dropped Hepi for the first time before another close-range uppercut wrapped up the show.

Liam Talivaa defeats Isaac Liki

Talivaa continues his impressive start to his pro career, stopping his debut opponent in the first round.

The two traded closely and the southpaw threw a bomb at Liki’s jaw and that was it.
