Liverpool transfer news LIVE – Federico Chiesa latest, Edmond Tapsoba battle, Mason Mount boost
Hello and welcome to the Liverpool Live Blog for Saturday 24th June.
The transfer window is on and so is the rumor mill. Liverpool have already welcomed Alexis Mac Allister to Merseyside and their ambitions don’t end there.
Khephren Thuram impressed on Thursday night as France made a positive start to the European Under-21 Championship. Gabri Veiga and Ryan Gravenberch, who are expected to be the stars of the tournament, are among the Reds’ targets this summer.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are closely associated with talent from across Europe. The latest is Edmond Tapsoba with reports suggesting Tottenham Hotspur will be pressured by the Anfield club this summer.
Reports from Italy have suggested Federico Chiesa could be the latest attacker to join the Reds, with a €45m bid from the Chiefs on Merseyside reportedly in the pipeline.

United see third mount offer rejected
At Manchester United, a third offer for Mason Mount was rejected.
Their latest bid for the midfielder is understood to have been worth £50m plus £5m in surcharges.
Athletic state Chelsea have tabled a £58m plus £7m surcharge counter-proposal as the two clubs struggle to reach an agreement.
Liverpool, of course, had close links with Mount not so long ago but have opted against making an official bid for the England international. Was that the right decision for the Reds?

Federico Chiesa to Liverpool: Reds lead the race
According to reports from Italy, Liverpool are top in the race to sign Juventus forward Federico Chiesa.
Gazzetta dello Sport has claimed that it is the Reds who are at the top as the Serie A giants ponder their prized assets this summer. In Friday’s edition of the newspaper, they suggest via Sport Witness that a departure for the 25-year-old would pave the way for the arrival of Galatasaray’s Nicolo Zaniolo.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are reportedly ‘ready to take seriously the prospect of signing the former Fiorentina striker’, with the German seen as a keen admirer and pushing the move. It was also claimed that “manoeuvres” had started with players’ agent Fali Ramadani.
Their report goes on to suggest that Liverpool could come up with an offer between €40m (£34.2m) and €45m (£38.5m) as soon as next week. However, it has been previously reported that Juventus want at least €60m (£51.3m), with European giants Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain appearing to be among their contenders.
