Formula One calendar 2024: Schedule and dates of every race

Formula 1 has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2024 FIA World Championship.

With 24 races to be held between March and December next year, the schedule sees the action starting in Bahrain and ending in Abu Dhabi.

With a focus on more regionalization of the calendar to help the sport reduce carbon emissions and meet its own sustainability strategy goals, several races have been rescheduled to new dates – most notably the Japanese, Azerbaijan and Qatar Grands Prix.

In the 2024 calendar, the first two races in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will also take place on a Saturday instead of the traditional Sunday.

Why is the 2024 Bahrain-Saudi Arabian Grand Prix held on Saturdays?

The first two races of the 2024 F1 calendar in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia will be held on a Saturday. This is to commemorate the Muslim holy period of Ramadan, which begins on Sunday March 10, one day after the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.

The Japanese Grand Prix will rotate from September to April, the Azerbaijan Grand Prix will rotate from April to September and the Qatar Grand Prix will rotate from October to December.

Speaking to the official F1 website on the 2024 F1 calendar, Stefano Domenicali, the sport’s President and CEO, said: “There is a lot of interest and continued demand for Formula 1 and I believe this calendar strikes the right balance between traditional racing and creates new and new races.” existing venues.

“Our journey towards a more sustainable calendar will continue in the coming years as we continue to streamline operations as part of our Net Zero 2030 commitment. We have plenty of racing to look forward to in 2023, including the inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix, and our fans can look forward to even more excitement next season.”
