Tsitsipas vs Murray LIVE! Wimbledon 2023 latest score and updates from Centre Court
Sitsipas vs. Murray LIVE!
Andy Murray returns to Center Court at Wimbledon today for a tough battle against Stefanos Tsitsipas. It’s the renewal of a rivalry that famously boiled over at the 2021 US Open, when the length of the Greek’s toilet breaks sparked an argument that both players claim is long forgotten.
While Tsitsipas triumphed in that five-set epic two years ago, Murray triumphed in the last meeting of the two in Stuttgart last summer in what was one of his biggest wins since returning from major hip surgery. Although his opponent is the undisputed favorite this time round in fifth seed, the two-time SW19 champion expects to surprise once again on grass.
Tsitsipas had to complete a five-set marathon against Dominic Thiem to reach the second round, while Murray edged past compatriot Ryan Peniston in straight sets, including a rare bagel. Follow Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Andy Murray at Wimbledon LIVE for updates below!

MURRAY PUTS IT UP TO A FULL SET
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), (2)6-7 Murray
An ace for Murray is the perfect start to the tie-break, but then he’s caught lingering at the back of the field and Tsitsipas smashes a winner over the net that Murray fails to pursue.
But wait a moment. Tsitsipas nets and the mini break belongs to Murray.
He backs it up with a top serve. 3: 1 for the 36-year-old, who plays against a man 12 years his junior. Then 4:1 with another clean serve.
When the score was 4: 1 there was cheering, but Tsitsipas scored an outstanding winning goal to make it 4: 2. Then a change ends…
…And then it’s full break for Murray as Tsitsipas scores again mid-raise – and then AGAIN on Murray’s serve to score THREE set points for Murray.
He only needs one though – his serve isn’t returned by Tsitsipas. Before the ball bounces, Murray roars and center court stands to applaud his effort.
Another tie break!
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 6-6 Murray
Tsitsipas hits the net and the ball goes wide as Murray closes at 30-30 and is just a few points away from breaking the Greek.
But Tsitsipas hasn’t made it as far as becoming the first player to be broken. He holds at 6-6. Another tie break.
Hold on to the love for Murray
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 5-6 Murray
That will do Murray very well. He is sticking to his lead and is leading 6:5 in the second set. If he can break Tsitsipas here – which is obviously not an easy task – he would be even in a set.
Is Murray getting closer to failure?
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 5-5 Murray
Murray claps a superbly precise crosscourt winner from Tsitsipas. Then Murray hits one of his own to make it 30:30 and for a second or three I can hardly hear myself thinking in the jubilation.
Murray is feeling his moment, but Tsitsipas – who has broken into men’s doubles with his brother Petros and mixed doubles with his girlfriend Paula Badosa – is standing his ground, dashed any hope of a first breakthrough of the game.
Winner by Murray as the Scot takes the lead again
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 4-5 Murray
Very rarely does Murray get knocked just over the net by a drop shot, but Tsitsipas played a peach to equalize 15-15 in the ninth game of the second set.
A few points later, Tsitsipas narrowly misses the baseline. In the next point, the Greek has the last word in a rally in which both players were thrown across the field by the other. elite tennis. Murray keeps his nerve and his serve. Once again.
Tsitsipas sums it up again
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 4-4 Murray
When Tsitsipas scored the first point with his serve, there was great cheering from the audience and it was 0:15 for Murray. The Greek has so far given up so little on his serve that Murray and the majority of the British audience benefit from misses.
Fabulous rally with 30-15 tsitsipas. Two aces and it’s another hold. 4-4 I’m not sure I can take another tiebreak, but we might get one…
4-3 Murray in the second set
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 3-4 Murray
We’re far enough into this fight now that old Andy’s back. He celebrates every point he wins and curses himself for every shot he misses.
A smart serve that barely featured Tsitsipas ensured Murray’s 4-3 win. Amazing that I’ve now played 19 games and there was never a break in service.
What quality is shown here!
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 3-3 Murray
It gets a bit ridiculous how high the quality of tennis is. Stefanos Tsitsipas is a fierce competitor but is likely to be much more difficult to play on clay or hard court. However, it makes no sense that he is weaker on grass today.
Meanwhile, Murray is 36, the oldest player in the men’s top 50, and has a metal hip.
Murray turns a 0:40 deficit into a tackle, but it’s two quick points from Tsitsipas and he’s home and dry. At least for this game. Murray to serve.
Hold Murray fast
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 2-3 Murray
After Tsitsipas blundered to concede the first point, an audible gasp can be heard around Center Court as Murray fires a seemingly uncomplicated high volley throw.
Murray recovers and earns two game points, but he only needs one as he hits an ace in the t to hold the serve fast.
2: 2 because Tsitsipas holds
Tsitsipas 7-6(3), 2-2 Murray
Murray gets an outstanding point when he returns a deliberate body serve from Tsitsipas. Murray attempts to throw Tsitsipas, whose response with a smash hits the metal of his racquet, giving Murray a chance to snag a winner down the line.
However, it’s the only point the Scot wins in another comfortable hold for the world No. 5.
