An away win can extend Chelsea’s unbeaten streak to five games under Graham Potter while also putting them in a great position to qualify for Group E in the Champions League. The defense is more stable now, although Potter has to change sides regularly, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is also finding form under the England coach. With N’Golo Kante’s return to fitness, spirits among the Blues are brighter than they have been since the start of the season.

AC Milan have been a strong side in a tight Serie A with just one defeat all season but last week’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge could have been demoralizing ahead of the second leg. But a win over Juventus last weekend got that team back on track. A stronger performance from Rafael Leao will be required to drive the attack, while it will be interesting to see if American full-back Sergino Dest gets another chance in the line-up after a horror show of a game when these two teams last met .

storylines

AC Milan: Injuries have hit AC Mian hard as Charles De Ketelaere, Alexis Saelemakers, Simon Kager, Davide Calabria, Allesandro Florenzi, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mike Maignan will all miss the game. AC Milan have struggled to find shots in the Champions League and managed just 11 shots on target, good for 20th in the competition. With good passing, Chelsea will create chances, but as AC Milan can’t rely on their ailing defense to win games, they need to push the game in attack.

Chelsea: While Kante is back in training, he will miss the game along with Wesley Fofana. Outside of the duo, Potter will have a full squad to choose from which could only see him make a forced move from the first leg, with Trevoh Chalobah replacing Fofana at centre-back.
