Storylines: Western Michigan has won seven straight games in this 2006 MAC series. However, the Broncos need to clean up a few things to keep the streak alive after committing six turnovers in a 33-14 loss to Ohio last week. Miami (Ohio) also struggled offensively in a 17-13 loss at Bowling Green last week when the Redhawks rushed for just 189 yards overall. The winner will improve to 2-2 in league play and reignite his bowl hopes.

State of Boise in the Air Force

Date: Saturday 22 Oct | Time: 19 o’clock

Spread: State of Boise -3.5 | Will the Broncos cover? Check out the Week 8 predictions from SportsLine

Storylines: Boise State struggled out of the gates during a 2-2 start, but the Broncos are alone at the top of their division and have been playing better offensively since Dirk Koetter stepped in as offensive coordinator the last two games. The Air Force leads the nation at 359.9 yards per game and averages fewer penalty yards per game than anyone else in the nation. The Falcons ended a four-game losing streak against Boise State last season, and this one has the makings of a good one.

State of San Diego in Nevada

Live broadcast: CBSSports.com | Cell phone, mobile phone: CBS Sports App
Spread: State of San Diego -7 | Will the Aztecs cover? Check out the Week 8 predictions from SportsLine

Storylines: Both teams are among the worst in the nation offensively, so this could be a defensive fight. The Nevada quarterbacks haven’t thrown a touchdown in six games against FBS opponents this season. San Diego State underwent an offensive coordinator change earlier this month when Jeff Horton came on for Jeff Hecklinski. It paid off in a 16-14 win over Hawaii as the Aztecs tacked on a total of 417 yards.
