Assault on a police officer noted in latest report from Unity RCMP

Unity, Wilkie, and Macklin RCMP reports are available for the period March 14-20. Wilkie Police’s response to a stolen vehicle later found burned north of Phippen made the headlines as police appealed to the public for help:

UNITY REPORTS

· RCMP received a complaint of harassing communications. This matter is still under investigation.

· Members received a request from the Edmonton Police Department to send a next of kin notification to a person in the department.

· The police received a report of theft. This matter is still under investigation.

· Members carried out a health check at the request of another RCMP department.

· RCMP received a complaint under the Mental Health Act. Members raised the issue of the complaint.

· A 49-year-old Unity man has been charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer, resisting a peace officer and two counts of making threats after members received a complaint against the Mental Health Act.

· Members are investigating a complaint of fraud.

· Police received a complaint under the Mental Health Act. Members raised the issue of the complaint.

· CN Police reported a railroad crossing disruption in Unity. Reported for information.

· RCMP received a complaint of assault. This matter is still under investigation.

· Members participated in a traffic accident in Unity. This matter is still under investigation.

· There was also a traffic complaint and a false emergency call.

WILKIE REPORTS

· RCMP received a report of an individual entering a residential courtyard. Members were present but could not locate the subject of the complaint.

· Police received a complaint about a person who failed to comply with a probation order. This matter is still under investigation.

· A person dropped off a security bag that was on the street. The bag was returned to the owner.

· RCMP received a complaint under the Mental Health Act. Members raised the issue of the complaint.

· Members received a request from the Saskatoon Crown Prosecution Office to serve subpoenas on persons in the contingent area.

· A 40-year-old woman from Battleford has been charged with breaching the probation order after members received a public intoxication complaint.

· The police received a report of a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later found burned in a rural area north of Phippen. This matter is still under investigation.

MACKLIN REPORT

· RCMP received a report of home trespassing by an individual. This matter is still under investigation.

· Members spoke to an individual regarding a release order.

· The police received a report of threats. This matter is still under investigation.

· RCMP received a complaint under the Mental Health Act. Members raised the issue of the complaint. Paramedics transported the subject of the complaint to Provost Hospital for assessment.

· Members received another complaint under the Mental Health Act. Members raised the issue of the complaint.

· Members received a call to keep the peace while an individual was collecting personal items from an apartment

· RCMP received a complaint about threats. This matter is still under investigation.

· There was also a bogus 911 call.
