Recently we saw spy footage of a vehicle that may have been the Audi RS6 E-Tron electric sports sedan. Now there’s a new set of images that capture the same model in better lighting.

The Audi development team wraps the entire vehicle in camouflage foil with a swirl pattern. The material hides the styling features, but there are still some interesting things to note.

Up front, the design matches what we see from the nose of the standard A6 E-Tron. Below is a trapezoidal opening in the fascia. Vertical intakes are located on the outer edges in front of the wheels. There are split headlights with the main lamps at the bottom and an LED strip at the top that separates from part of the body.

The profile of this vehicle also largely resembles the A6 E-Tron in spy images. There is a flowing roofline with a fastback shape. As on the predecessor, large, red brake calipers are visible behind the five-spoke wheels.

On the back are taillights that taper to the trunk. A trapezoidal piece protrudes from the underside of the bumper. This element probably creates an optical connection to the opening in the front. Also, this angle in the photos makes it easiest to see the tailgate on the driver’s side rear fenders.

Powertrain details about the RS6 E-Tron are a complete mystery at this point. However, we would assume that the values are higher than the standard A6 E-Tron. In concept form, the regular sedan makes a total of 470 horsepower (350 kilowatts) and 590 pound-feet (800 Newton meters) with two electric motors. Audi projects this setup will propel the can to 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in less than four seconds.

The A6 E-Tron concept has a 100-kilowatt-hour battery. Estimated range is 435 miles (700 kilometers). The system can be charged with up to 270 kilowatts, enabling a driving distance of 186 miles (300 kilometers) in 10 minutes. Charging from 5 to 80 percent takes less than 25 minutes.

The entire A6 E-Tron family will ride on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture. It will also sit below the Q6 E-Tron and Porsche Macan EV

The standard A6 E-Tron arrives as a 2024 model, and we expect the model’s debut to be before the end of the year. About a year after the sedan comes an Avant wagon. It’s not clear when the RS6 would join the lineup.
