It doesn’t increase the stage much for Juventus, but a win for the Italian side will see Benfica and PSG advance from Group H to the knockout stages. It’s been a disappointing Champions League season for Max Allegri with just one win so far in the competition and things aren’t getting any easier as Benfica impressed in the group stage.

Even after a comprehensive win against Empoli at the weekend, Juventus are struggling in Serie A where they are eighth. While the owner has pledged that Allegri will remain in charge at least until the end of the season, this is a Juventus side that has underperformed for years and is on track to be eliminated from the Champions League while also being quite far behind is also qualified via league games. Meanwhile, Benfica are in an excellent position after doing what was necessary and drawing against PSG and winning the remaining games.

Benfica: A balanced side, Benfica’s success rests on their defense as they have only conceded three goals in their four Champions League games so far. With a clean bill of health, Roger Schmidt will have his strongest team at his disposal, including duo Rafa Silva and Joao Mario, who will be difficult for Juventus to stop in the game.

Juventus: With a fighting attack, no Angel Di Maria will be difficult for Juventus to defeat away. The Italian side have only scored multiple goals in two of their last five games so they need to avoid going under early as one goal feels like two if they want to come back in a game. Juventus have to struggle in a game where anything but a win is unacceptable for them.

Benfica’s defense was better than expected during the Champions League game and will do great again to secure Juventus a place in the last 16. Choose: Benfica 1, Juventus 0
