Ventures in Saints Row are small ventures that you can buy into through the Empire table and menu. Ventures can be placed in locations on the map that cost money to purchase but provide a steady stream of income once accessed, as well as a host of new missions and perks, making them great sources of passive Saints Row cash. Completing these missions improves the business and the income it generates permanently, and can unlock new perks depending on the context and progress. You may need a company in an area to use fast travel points near Saints Row, for example.

How to buy and unlock new Saints Row ventures

The first business you get in Saints Row is JimRobs’s Garage, which unlocks early on as part of the story, but only after about five hours and you’ll have completed the ‘Networking’ campaign mission to gain access to the business table in the Saints’ Church.

After this point, you can buy new shops by heading back to the church and immediately taking the stairs up to the left as you go through the main door. Upstairs is a small room with a card table – interact with this for the shop menu.

To buy new businesses in this menu, select an empty space/circle on the map and you will be presented with a list of available businesses to place there (most will be locked early). Pay the down payment for the business (expensive purchases that start at $30,000) and you will be teleported to this location to see your business begin and you will be given a small tutorial on the unique missions that come with it associated with the company.

As you get more businesses, upgrade your existing ones, and complete certain milestone missions in the campaign, your “Empire Level” (shown in the top left of the business table menu) will improve, allowing you to own more buildings and own more businesses at once.

Businesses you’ve bought into in Saints Row can be leveled up and improved by completing the specific missions associated with that business. From the main menu map, select the company itself and it will tell you the missions, side quests, collectibles, and objectives needed to upgrade. These change from venture to venture, although dealing with “threats” (small random battles and mini-quests around the map) is a common theme. Each threat you remove from the map also increases the passive hourly income generated by the nearby venture by a small amount.

If you meet the conditions, the business will level up (the number of levels each business in Saints Row has varies) and with it, its hourly income will improve as well.

If you’re wondering which is the best to pick, we recommend either Chalupacabra or Shady Oaks for a variety of reasons. Chalupacabra has the shortest progression path – only 5 stages – but the same monetary reward for completing ventures – $30,000 and 5,000 XP, so that’s efficient (although the other rewards aren’t too exciting).

Shady Oaks, on the other hand, still has a short way to go (7 stages), but upon completion it unlocks two new weapons and a vehicle, as well as one of the best mini-games – Saints Row Insurance Cheat, in which the player has to dramatically throw himself into cars to try to to hurt yourself as much as possible. Once you have a business, it generates passive income – but not directly for you. It goes to the cash app in your phone, which you have to open and use to manually transfer from time to time. Be careful though – the app has limited storage and when the maximum is reached the money goes nowhere to get it. Make sure to empty it regularly!
