BMW celebrates the 50th birthday of its M division. To mark the occasion, BMW launched the X7 40i M Sport “50 Years M Edition” in India. The SUV will be manufactured in India at BMW’s Chennai plant and will only be available in the petrol variant. Earlier, BMW India announced that it will launch 10 exclusive “50 Years of M Editions” to celebrate its M Performance sub-brand. The BMW X7 40i M Sport “50 Years M Edition” has hit the market for Rs. 1,20,50,000 (former showroom). The bookings for the SUV are open and the SUV can be booked online.

BMW’s M division is their performance wing, just like AMG is for Mercedes. The M division transforms regular BMW vehicles into high-performance vehicles. They’ve been doing this for 50 years. The BMW X7 is a full-size luxury SUV from BMW.

It’s a powerhouse, with a 0-100km time of 6.1 seconds. Big presence on the street that creates a bold style statement. Unsurpassed comfort with adaptive 2-axle air suspension. A special 50-year M badge signals exclusivity.

The expansive exterior dimensions and generous surfaces radiate grandeur. The front is one of the most striking aspects of the BMW X7. The opulent and extraordinarily large kidney grille in black high-gloss forms the heart of the impressive front design, on which the iconic M emblem provides additional accents. Visually distinct from the conventional BMW emblem, it signals the passion for racing and for the roots of the BMW M brand. The M emblem adorns the front and rear logos as well as the wheel hub caps. BMW Laser Light technology with blue X-shaped elements makes a striking visual statement. The imposing silhouette draws attention to the street. Large windows and an elongated roof line characterize the sporty, modern side view. Long doors in the rear emphasize the spaciousness of the SAV. The rear shows determination and superiority. A contemporary look is created by the horizontal lines, slim LED lights and a two-part tailgate.

The vehicle features 2-axle air suspension, BMW xDrive, M Sport brake calipers in Black High Gloss and 21″ 752M Jet Black Alloys. It is available in striking yet stylish paint finishes including Mineral White and Carbon Black.

With an optional M accessory package, customers can give every detail a sporty character. This pack is for the enthusiast who wants to stand out on the go. All accessories in this pack are made of carbon fiber material – M Performance steering wheel in and Alcantara option, mirror caps, key ring in Alcantara are just a few.

The impressive open spaces in the interior ensure a fresh feeling of space. The interior is characterized by a driver-oriented cockpit that is typical of BMW and a raised seating position with all-round visibility that is characteristic of X models. Functions such as M seat belts, M leather steering wheel, heated seats with lumbar support, electric seat adjustment with memory function and automatic dimming function for all mirrors give the interior a further sporty touch. Excellence meets generosity with ample legroom, headroom and space for up to seven seats. The rear seat experience is enhanced with the optional six-seat configuration, including two second-row, captain-style comfort seats. The automatic climate control with five-zone control increases the level of luxury for every passenger.

The large Sky Lounge panoramic glass roof gives the cabin a feeling of spaciousness. The large panoramic roof, which extends to the third row, enables dynamic lighting throughout the BMW X7. The absolute highlight in the interior is “Crafted Clarity”, a multitude of controls made of elegant glass that adorn the insert of the gear selector, the iDrive control wheel, the audio control button and the start/stop button.

The comfort access system recognizes the key from afar within a radius of 1.5 meters and unlocks the doors and the two-piece tailgate. The luggage compartment package includes slide rails for easy loading. The soft-close function for doors also increases comfort. By folding the second and third rows of seats, the storage capacity can be increased from 326 liters to up to 2,120 liters, making it suitable for all types of journeys.

Thanks to the unrivaled BMW TwinPower Turbo technology, the petrol engine combines maximum power with exemplary efficiency and offers spontaneous response even at low engine speeds. The three-litre six-cylinder engine combines the typical high-revving character of BMW M GmbH engines with the latest version of M TwinPower Turbo technology. The BMW X7 40i M Sport develops an output of 340 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm at 1,500 – 5,200 rpm. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.1 seconds.

The 8-speed M Steptronic transmission enables exceptionally short shift times and fast, precise reactions to every step on the accelerator. The driver can access three clearly different setups in both automatic and manual mode – comfort-oriented, sporty or route-optimized. The setup button on the center console provides direct access to the adjustment options for the engine, chassis, steering and braking system as well as traction control. The engine characteristics can be modified in the EFFICIENT, SPORT and SPORT PLUS settings, while in the COMFORT, SPORT or SPORT PLUS chassis modes there is access to the three settings of the electronically controlled dampers.

A multitude of BMW ConnectedDrive technologies continue to break through the innovation barrier in the automotive industry – BMW Gesture Control, BMW Display Key, Wireless Charging and Wireless Apple CarPlay®. The modern cockpit concept BMW Live Cockpit Professional, running on the latest BMW Operating System 7.0, includes 3D navigation, a 12.3-inch digital instrument display behind the steering wheel and a 12.3-inch control display. Rear-Seat Entertainment Professional allows users to access entertainment and navigation from the rear seats.
