Cheryl looks chic as she heads home after latest performance in 2:22 A Ghost Story
Cheryl looked effortlessly chic walking home after her last appearance in 2:22 A Ghost Story on Tuesday night.
The 39-year-old singer looked stylish in faded straight-leg jeans and a white vest top as she got into a car outside the Lyric Theatre.
She completed her relaxed ensemble with a cream V-neck sweater and wrapped up in a white padded jacket for the cool temperatures.
Cheryl kept her essentials in a square blue and gold handbag and accentuated her natural good looks with mascara and a touch of blush.
The Girls Aloud star, who plays Jenny in the thriller, swept her brunette tresses back into a chic updo, letting curly strands fall loosely to frame her face.
She appeared to be in a happy mood as she smiled and waved at fans and photographers as she climbed into her vehicle after her final appearance on stage.
When she left the theater, sHe was flanked by a guard who followed him a reported horrific stalker ordeal, with “disgusting” notes left for her at the theater.
A source told The Sun of the alleged incident: “There is at least one lunatic who has sent some pretty disgusting and disturbing messages.
“She wasn’t shown them, but they’re in the flowers that people leave after performances.
“Cheryl has enough to think about on stage in front of a packed theater every night without having to think too, but steps have been taken to increase security and reassure her.”
It has been reported that Cheryl has her own security team monitoring her movements and escorting her wherever she goes, while a car is waiting outside the stage door to take her back to her home in Buckinghamshire.
A representative of Cheryl was contacted by MailOnline at the time.
Her final appearance comes after Cheryl revealed she would like to star in a “dark drama” following her huge success on stage.
In January, she made her acting debut as Jenny in the West End thriller, starring the likes of Lily Allen and Laura Whitmore.
And Cheryl opened up about her decision to pursue acting and teased her desire to take on more film projects during an appearance on The One Show.
When asked by hosts Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas if she plans to continue acting, Cheryl hinted that she might want to star in “a dark drama” next.
Discussing her signing up for 2:22 A Ghost Story, she said, “I just knew it felt right for me and I would be comfortable in the role.”
Looking ahead to future projects, she added: “It would have to be something that makes me feel the same way, maybe some drama, something gross.”
Reflecting on making her acting debut on stage, the Girls Aloud star described it as very much like singing in front of a live audience.
She explained: “I think this is all just entertainment, I love being back in front of a live audience instead of just being on screen.
“You can feel the participation of the audience … it’s like an exchange of energy that’s not so different from performing a song.”
She also admitted joining the cast of 2:22 A Ghost Story “exceeded” her expectations as she gushed over how much she enjoyed it.
Cheryl plays in the play as Jenny, who believes her new home is haunted, but her husband Sam remains skeptical.
In the play, they argue with their first dinner guests, old friend Lauren and new partner Ben, and decide to stay up until 2:22 to find out the truth.
From day one, the production has relied heavily on what is known as stunt casting – in which a celebrity, often with little or no acting experience, gets a role to sell tickets.
Cheryl had great success with 2:22 A Ghost Story and received a standing ovation after her debut in January.
After a flawless performance, a source in the audience told MailOnline: “During the curtain call, where the cast received a standing ovation, tears could be seen running down Cheryl’s cheeks.
They added: “Up front to cheer for her were her Girls Aloud bandmates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts alongside Lauren Silverman. There was not a single hiccup during the performance.
“She has definitely proven herself worthy of the role after surprising fans with the unexpected career move,” the source concluded.
