CTV Regina Citizen of the Year: How to nominate

Do you know someone who has excelled in serving their community?

If you know someone who changed Regina, help us give them the recognition they deserve!

HOW TO NOMINATE CITIZEN

Nominating someone for the CTV Regina Citizen of the Year Award provides encouragement and shines a spotlight on those who excel in community service.

To nominate an individual, you can pick up a form from CTV Regina or download it directly here.

You must include:

  • Color close-up photo of the candidate
  • One-page cover letter explaining why the candidate should be the next Regina Citizen of the Year.
  • Briefly describe the candidate’s life story
  • Provide information on the nominee’s education, professional achievements, and civic engagement
  • Include information about the nominee’s interests, including clubs, associations, and volunteer organizations
  • List any awards or news articles that showcase the nominee’s work in the community
  • Optional: Letter of support for the nominee

The presentation should be less than 1,000 words.

You may submit the nomination application and supporting documents or mail them to the CTV Regina station. The application deadline is December 2nd at 4 p.m

PREVIOUS RECIPIENT

Previous CTV Regina Citizen of the Year Award winners include John Hopkins, CEO of the Regina District Chamber of Commerce in 2019. He was nominated for his fundraising efforts, as well as his role in founding the Paul Martin Aboriginal Education Entrepreneurship Initiative and All Nations job expo.

In 2020, Debbie Rodger was recognized for her work as a Registered Nurse for over four decades. She also has a long history of volunteering including local skating clubs, Santas Anonymous, Gray Cup and Memorial Cup.

In 2021, Sarah Kozusko was recognized for her efforts to create a safe place in her city. She has been instrumental in providing essential vaccines to local organizations and providing medical care to Regina’s Camp Hope.

The 2022 Citizen of the Year for Regina will be announced on the news at 6 p.m. on December 31.

This marks the 20th year that CTV has offered Regina the Citizen of the Year Award.
