Daytona Duels 2023 start times, TV channel, lineups for NASCAR’s Daytona 500 qualifying races
The Daytona 500 is fast approaching. But before a driver is crowned in The Great American Race, it must first be determined in which position each driver will start.
To do this, the racers will take part in Daytona Duels, a three-part event in which drivers will compete to see who gets the more advantageous starting positions in Sunday’s big race.
It’s an oddity in the world of Cup Series racing; Qualifying is usually decided the day before a race.
However, the Daytona 500 is not just any race.

Qualifying for the pole sitting takes place on Wednesday. Then follow Daytona Duels, a double sprint over 150 laps to determine the grid order behind the top two cars of Wednesday’s qualifying.
It is the prelude to one of the most famous stock car races. Here’s what you need to know about it:
Daytona Duels 2023 start times
- Duel 1: Thursday, 7 p.m. ET
- Duel 2: Thursday, 8:45 p.m. ET (approx.)
Duel 1 consists of odd-numbered people (third, fifth, seventh, etc.) from the time trial. Conversely, in Duel 2, the even-numbered participants in the study (fourth, sixth, eighth, etc.)

- Live broadcast: FoxSports.com, Fox Sports App, fuboTV
FS1 will handle the coverage for Thursday’s races. Mike Joy (lap by lap), Clint Bowyer and Larry McReynolds (race analysts) will be available as the Cup Series season approaches its opening race of the regular season.
Daytona Duels 2023 starting lineups
The starting positions for the duels on Thursday were determined based on the final position of the drivers in the time trial. Racers who finished the time trial in odd positions (one, three, five, etc.) were seeded in Duel 1. Racers placed in even positions were placed in duel 2.
