Demon Slayer, one of the most popular anime franchises in the world, returns for Season 3.

The new season of the hugely popular anime has been given a release date and trailer – and fans are excited to see what will happen next.

Season 2 of the show followed the ongoing battle between teenager Tanjiro Kamado and the demon king behind his parents’ gruesome murder: Muzan Kibutsuji.

In the season, the main protagonists also traveled to Yoshiwara, Japan’s red light district, to track down a demon that had wreaked havoc in the area.

Season 3 will focus on the Swordsmith Village arc. When Tanjiro travels to Swordsmith Village to have his blade repaired, he encounters a horde of demons.

When will Demon Slayer season 3 be released?

The first episode of the third season of Demon Slayer opens in cinemas worldwide. It hit UK cinemas on Wednesday 1 March.

For fans who want to watch at home, the series will be released in Japan on Monday, April 3rd and will likely hit the streaming service Crunchyroll shortly after.

Demon Slayer Season 3 follows the Swordsmith Village Arc. The manga is officially finished, so fans who want to know all the spoilers can find out what’s about to happen – but we won’t reveal them here!

Tanjiro encounters another horde of demons when he travels to the Swordsmiths’ Village to have his blade repaired.

Characters like Tanjiro (Natsuki Hanae), Zenitsu (Hiro Shimono), Inosuke (Yoshitsugu Matsuoka), and Nezuko (Akari Kitou) will all return.
