- HAMLIN AT FONTANA: Denny Hamlin has two top 5 finishes and eight top 10 finishes in 20 NASCAR Cup Series starts at Auto Club Speedway. Last season Hamlin started fourth and ran competitively for much of the race. He was inside the top 10 on the final lap before contact with another car relegated him to 15th. Prior to this setback, Hamlin had finished seventh or better three times in a row in the two-mile course. A Chesterfield, Virginia native, he leads all active drivers with three pole honors at Auto Club Speedway.
- DAYTONA REVIEW: Hamlin finished 17th at the season-opening Daytona 500. After finishing ninth in his 150 mile qualifying race, the No. 11 driver started 18th in the Great American Race. He led six laps that day and was seventh on the final lap before being caught in a multi-car accident.
- SPORT CLIPS: Sport Clips will be the main sponsor for Hamlin at the Auto Club Speedway this weekend. Based in Georgetown, Texas, the sports-themed haircut franchise has been a longtime supporter of Joe Gibbs Racing since 2009 and has more than 1,850 stores across the United States and Canada.
- JGR AT FONTANA: Joe Gibbs Racing has three NASCAR Cup Series wins at Auto Club Speedway. In 93 combined starts at the track, the organization has achieved 20 top 5 finishes, 40 top 10 finishes, five pole awards and 1,083 laps led.
