Diablo 4: How to Leave Dungeons (3 Ways)

Dungeons are at the forefront of the Diablo 4 experience, and the development team created some nifty systems around them, such as the process of making them as simple as possible. While previous Diablo titles had dungeons, exiting them after clearing those dungeons wasn’t smooth. The same was the case in the early betas of Diablo 4, but fortunately that has finally changed. So in this guide we will learn how to exit the dungeon after completing it.

There may be situations where you may want to exit a dungeon early as well. Sometimes it can be because you are out of potions or want to upgrade your gear. In other cases, this may be after completing the dungeon. Whatever the case, Diablo 4 ensures that this is a simple process using two specific methods.

1. Use the Exit Dungeon option.

Diablo 4 made sure that once players complete a dungeon, they no longer have to go back to exit it. To combat this problem, Diablo 4 has a special dungeon exit option. To use it, do the following:

  • Press “E” on your keyboard to bring up the radial menu. Through this menu, we invite players into Diablo 4, review their gear, and even use emotes like “thank you” and more. For console players, press the up button on the directional pad.
  • From the radial menu, select the Exit Dungeon menu. This will cause your class character to summon a yellow portal and teleport directly to the dungeon gates.

If you follow the steps above, you will exit the dungeon in Diablo 4 immediately. It takes you straight outside so you can continue your journey through the game.

2. Teleporting via the town portal in Diablo 4

The other alternative to exiting the dungeon is to use Diablo 4’s town portal, or as I like to call it, the blue teleporter. City Portal is a general teleportation ability that a player can use. Using it will open a portal in Kyovashad (in beta), which players can then reuse to return to the portal’s point of origin. In order to do this, Press the T button on your keyboard to open the portal and spawn back into Kyovashad.

This is a great option for players who want to exit the dungeon in Diablo 4 and start tinkering with the accumulated loot right away. Additionally, this option allows you to exit and return to the dungeon in the middle of exploring to repair or upgrade your gear.

3. Go back to the dungeon entrance

The last way to get out of a dungeon in Diablo 4 is good old backtracking. As the title suggests, just open the map and head back to the dungeon entrance. This is perfect for players who want to double-check whether or not they left loot on the ground.

However, we don’t recommend using this method unless you have no purpose other than simply collecting the unpicked loot. After all, why bother wasting your time on minor tasks when you can destroy the forces of hell?
