Diamond Heels jump in latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll

The North Carolina Tar Heels baseball program continued its winning streak last week, picking up a big streak win over rival Duke to round out the weekend.

With the 3-1 week, the Diamond Heels are now 18-6 a year and seem to be hitting a groove as we flip the calendar to April later this week. The Tar Heels have been making it with their bats lately and are also getting a bigger contribution from the bullpen.

UNC started the week with a 6-4 win over North Carolina A&T and won their first game against Duke on Thursday. After the Blue Devils won game two on Friday, UNC struck back and won the series finals on Saturday.

And with that, UNC also advanced in the latest USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

The Tar Heels moved up two spots in the most recent poll, climbing from No. 16 to No. 14. They are also the fourth best ACC program in the poll behind No. 2 Wake Forest, No. 5 Virginia and No. 11 Louisville.
