The New York Road Runners announced key dates for the 2023 TCS New York City Marathon in January, with the big event scheduled to take place on November 5th.

The registration process for the 2023 NYC Marathon, which started last month, did not go smoothly as many experienced technical issues.

In a series of tweets beginning Feb. 8, the TCS New York City Marathon, the organization behind the famous sporting event, admitted that its team was made aware of the problems encountered on the first day of the draw due to high demand occurred .

“Our teams are currently aware of the issues affecting the registration process,” the TCS New York City Marathon tweeted on February 8. Please check back later as we try to resolve this as quickly as possible.”

A few hours later, still experiencing delays due to high demand, the organization again issued a clarification that the claim period for entry was NOT first come, first served but was open for the next two weeks — a period during which interested parties can apply or claim their entry.

The following day, the TCS New York Marathon further explained its application process in a tweet thread, stating that applications will be processed within 48 hours and those who entered the drawing, which will take place on March 1, will not should try to participate again. Once processed, your runner’s dashboard should reflect the race in the Upcoming Events section and a confirmation email will also be sent.

Additionally, runners not eligible via the non-NYRR time qualification method were automatically moved into the draw.
