Disney Dreamlight Valley Friendship Guide: How To Level Up Quickly

Though Disney Dreamlight Valley gives you multiple biomes to customize to your liking and thousands of items to collect and craft to help you do so, what matters most are the friendships you make along the way. At least, we think so. Building your friendship levels with all of the beloved characters you’ve invited into your valley takes time, effort, and generosity, but receiving all of their unique items and other perks can be worth the investment. In this guide, we will show you the best ways to improve your friendships with your Disney friends.

do friend quests

The first and most obvious way to improve your friendships is to do friendship quests. Each of your friends has their own quests to complete, and new ones are unlocked as they level up. Completing these will give you a bunch of Friendship XP, and leveling up one of them will also give you all the items listed in their individual reward track for that level. So it’s important to keep track of your quest log to ensure you’re earning as much as possible for your playtime.

Have daily discussions

One of the easiest ways to get a decent amount of Friendship XP is through daily discussions, which you can have once a day with any character currently in your valley. Just walk up to one of your characters and talk to them. Then choose the answer (usually at the top) that asks him a question or talks to him about his life. Completing the dialogue will earn you a bit of XP and a bit more insight into what makes each of your friends tick.

Depend

One of the most efficient ways to earn Friendship XP is by hanging out with one of your characters. When a character reaches level 2, you can assign them a specific job: gardening, mining, fishing, foraging, or digging. After that, you can talk to them and choose “hang out,” which will have them follow you while you perform any of the jobs above. While you’re hanging out, every time you do something related to one of these jobs, your friend will get some XP for it.

It’s worth noting that your friend will get XP even if you do things unrelated to their assigned job. However, when you run tasks that are In connection with their assigned task, they will also occasionally reward you with additional materials. For example, if you have a friend who is tasked with mining, you’ll likely get an extra ore or gem for every knot you finish breaking. This is important to help you farm materials for many quests, and those extra friendship XP are nice too.

give presents

Giving gifts is a great way to improve your friendships. If you talk to one of your friends, you can see an option to give them everything (except quest items) from your inventory. Each of your dwellers has three favorite gifts per day that will give you massive Friendship XP gains if you get them, so it’s a good idea to take every opportunity to pair them with what pleases them.

While these favorite gifts grant the biggest rewards, you can also opt for a slow but consistent option of repeatedly gifting them flowers. For some reason each character will level up a bit as they get flowers, so you can repeat this to level up any characters you have in a hurry. You can also combine Dream Shards and Night Shards to create Purified Night Shards to give them some decent XP gains, but you’ll be giving up some pretty valuable resources in the process.

Serving meals at Remy’s Restaurant

The last (and most contradictory) way to level up your characters is to serve them meals at Remy’s restaurant. Various characters cycle in and out of the restaurant throughout the day, each demanding a unique meal while sitting inside. When you have the ingredient and recipe for this meal, cook it and bring it over to serve them. At that point, you will be rewarded with an XP bonus for that friend. You can only feed each person once during a visit, and since you never know who will be there at any point throughout the day, this isn’t a particularly efficient way to level up a specific character. But hey, a little extra XP is nice if you can get it.
