squirrel
Where to find them: The seat
What they feed: fruit
How to approach them: Go to a squirrel and press A.
Your favorite food: Peanuts (raise Remy’s friendship to level 4 and complete the quest “Remy’s Recipe Book” to add it to his shop)

Where to find them: Forest of Valor
What they feed: Berry
How to approach them: Approach a raccoon slowly and stop when the raccoon pricks up its ears, then wait for it to look at you. If he’s standing on his feet and facing you, don’t move. If he sits down, walk forward until he gets up again. Repeat this process until you are close enough for the A action to appear.

How to approach them: Approach a crocodile slowly and stop when it raises its head, then wait for it to look at you. Don’t move with your head up and facing you. When his head is down, walk forward until he raises his head again. Repeat this process until you are close enough for the A action to appear.

How to approach them: Like rabbits, foxes want you to chase them. Repeat the chase three times, and the third time they sit down and let you approach them.

How to approach them: Ravens fly in circles around you until they are ready to let you near. Be patient; They stop flying when they want to be fed.

How to feed and befriend animals – FAQ
Why befriend living beings?
If you give an animal a food it likes, the animal will give you a gift in return. So far, for us, it was either Dream Shards or Motifs.
You can also tame critters, which is purely cosmetic, but once they’re your friend, you can have one of them accompany you as a companion animal!
How do I tame critters?
You have to feed them. You can either feed them a food they like or a food they love, but either way, the chance of them becoming your companion is pretty random. Sometimes it takes a try or two, sometimes more.
How do I know if I’ve tamed a creature?
They appear in your wardrobe under the “Companions” tag and are completed in the menu in your Collection tab.
How often do I have to feed them?
From once to four or five times.
Why can’t I feed this animal?
Perhaps you have already fed it today! You can only feed it once every 24 hours.
If you offer food to a creature it doesn’t like, it will shake its head. You can’t feed them anymore that day, so make sure you know what they like!
Why does this animal make me keep chasing it?
Dreamlight Valley seems to have some pathfinding issues – and the animals can’t always reach the areas they want to be in while hunting, usually due to obstacles like ice spikes, mushrooms, tree stumps, and thorns. This means they are basically stuck in chase mode. Try fast traveling away and back, or just try again tomorrow!
When do they appear?
Good question! There are several colors of each animal, and while the common ones usually hang around in an area all day, there are also rare varieties of each that appear for shorter periods each week.
What are the rare creatures?
Each type of creature has one or two rare variants that are unusual colors, and they only appear once a week. Since you can only feed them once a day, they are more difficult to befriend.
