Engage Sport North looking for new executive director – Prince George Daily News

Mandy Graham

Engage Sport North is preparing to transition into a new era of leadership, with Executive Director Mandi Graham stepping down from her current position effective June 1, 2023

“Mandi has been a passionate leader at Engage Sport North and has helped the organization reach new heights,” said Stephen Duck, President of the Engage Sport North Society. “Her commitment to inclusion and community building has resulted in partnerships with indigenous communities, adaptive sports organizations and young athletes. And over the past 5 years her leadership has helped Engage Sport North become a successful leader in the sports community, growing from a team of 3 to over 20.”

Under Graham’s leadership, Engage Sport North has implemented several programs and initiatives that have had a positive impact on the community. Some of their most notable achievements are:

  • Partnering with Indigenous Communities: Graham has worked to build strong partnerships with Indigenous communities to provide a platform for Indigenous athletes to showcase their talents and promote cultural understanding and inclusion.
  • Partnering with the Northern Adaptive Sports Association: Engage Sport North has also developed partnerships with adaptive sports organizations that provide opportunities for people with disabilities to participate in sports and physical activity.
  • Young Athletes: Graham has also been a strong advocate for young athletes, helping to set up programs that encourage and support their development and provide them with opportunities to participate in sports and physical activity.

The organization will start looking for a new CEO immediately, with the goal of having the next CEO by mid-spring. Graham will retain strategic oversight to provide expertise and direction to the next Executive Director.

“I’m proud of what the Engage Sport North team has accomplished over the past five years,” said Graham. “Together we have strengthened the sporting community in the North and I look forward to supporting the Board, staff and the next General Manager as I continue to expand opportunities for inclusive sports in the North in my new role.”
