Here are some recent developments from the world of cryptography

The French National Museum of Modern Art at the Center Pompidou in Paris is planning to host an exhibition to demonstrate the relationship between art and blockchain and to put NFTs at the center of the Parisian art scene.

The February 10 exhibition features NFTs from CryptoPunks and Autoglyphs projects, as well as works by 12 other digital artists. CryptoPunks is an NFT collection minted on the Ethereum blockchain. Each of the 10,000 “punks” is a 24×24 pixel image, one of crypto’s most dominant and consistently popular profile pictures, a new form of asset tokenization, organizers said.

Autoglyphs, on the other hand, are much rarer. The Ethereum-based generative art project by Larva Labs, the creators of CryptoPunks, has only 512 NFTs. The cheapest listed Autoglyph token is worth 249 ETH or over $377,000.

It is the first time that NFTs have been included in the Center Pompidou’s collection, which includes masterpieces by Wassily Kandinsky, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse and Frida Kahlo. The Center Pompidou is the largest modern art museum in Europe.

Reddit is giving away millions of Super Bowl NFTs on Polygon

As a testament to Web3’s popularity, discussion board Reddit has given away millions of free NFTs through their Collectible Avatars project. The new collaboration with the NFL on free Super Bowl NFTs helped Reddit hit another major milestone.

Approximately 1.3 million official Super Bowl LVII NFT avatars have been minted since Monday’s launch, including more than 500,000 on Tuesday alone, Decrypt reported. To date, users have minted nearly 10 million of Reddit’s Collectible Avatar NFTs, totaling over 9.7 million, according to public blockchain data available on Dune.

The Super Bowl avatars were offered free to all Reddit users, who can claim one of four unique avatar styles – including those of the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles – for free through the Reddit platform. Reddit’s Collectible Avatars are minted on Polygon, an Ethereum sidechain network that enables cheaper and faster transactions. Because they’re free avatars, Reddit’s Super Bowl NFTs don’t generate much trading action.

Many Web3 advocates, like Reddit’s NFT program, offer people easy access to this space. You can access it with one click; You can choose an avatar from a collection or choose a password for the newly created wallet and you’re done. The avatars can optionally be transferred to an external wallet and then traded.

Reportedly, over 6.6 million unique wallets now contain Reddit’s polygon avatars, including about 500,000 new wallets created this week as part of the Super Bowl promotion.
