Everton vs. Nottingham Forest: Time, TV channel, live stream, lineups and betting odds for Premier League clash

A distraught Everton welcome newly promoted Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park as the Toffees continue to seek their first points of the Premier League season.

Two one-goal defeats to Chelsea and Aston Villa already have the club on the ropes, just months after narrowly avoiding relegation last season.

One of only three clubs yet to concede a point in the first two games of the league season, Everton have struggled with a series of serious injuries that have decimated the squad in key areas. Abdoulaye Doucore is the latest to go down after suffering a hamstring injury half an hour after losing to Aston Villa last week.

Meanwhile, Forest clinched their first Premier League win since 1999 when they beat West Ham 1-0 last weekend.

Everton vs Nottingham Forest prediction lineups and team news

Everton have a number of injury problems to deal with. Above all, Abdoulaye Doucore is missing from midfield after suffering a hamstring problem in last weekend’s defeat by Aston Villa. Taking that midfield spot could be a number of possible substitutes including Alan, Jean Philippe Gbamin or new summer signature Amadou Onana.

Additionally, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will also be sidelined due to his knee problems, which could sideline him until mid-September while Yerry Mina also remains a failure as his ankle injury could keep him off the field until October.

Andros Townsend will miss some time, probably until 2023 with a cruciate ligament rupture. Ben Godfrey is another long-term absentee with a broken leg. Andre Gomes is still on the outside and is rumored to be looking to leave Goodison Park and even if a move doesn’t materialize it will take him a few weeks to get fit before he’s ready to take the field.

Everton predicted starting line-up (3-4-3): Pickford (GK) – Coady, Tarkovsky, Holgate – Mykolenko, Allan, Iwobi, Patterson – Gray, Gordon, McNeil.

Signed New Nottingham Forest Morgan Gibbs-White von Wolves should be available for the game but is unlikely to make the starting line-up having been officially unveiled by the club just the day before.

Jack Colback will miss the game with an illness while Omar Richards is out with a leg injury and won’t be back until September.

Manager Steve Cooper was able to name an unchanged squad from last week’s 1-0 win over West Ham who have been re-signed Taiwo Awoniyi scores his first goal in the Premier League.

Nottingham Forest expected starting line-up (3-4-1-2): Henderson (GK) – Niakhate, McKenna, Worrall – Toffolo, Mangala, O’Brien, Williams – Lingard – Awoniyi, Johnson.

The Toffees have suffered a variety of injuries, leaving their scrimmage particularly thin. However, Everton have improved significantly at the back this summer, adding James Tarkowski and Connor Coady to the transfer window, two positive additions to a previously porous defence.

Forest, meanwhile, have also maintained a positive defensive structure and have kept opponents goalless in three of their four halves so far, including a complete clean sheet at home to West Ham. Only the two-goal second half against Newcastle remains a thorn in the side.

There should be goals in this game as the Goodison fans are hoping for their first points of the Premier League season.
