The Ferrari driver took his eighth pole position of the season to please the Tifosi at Monza, beating F1 World Champion Max Verstappen by 0.145s in qualifying.

Verstappen will drop to seventh on the grid for the Italian Grand Prix due to his five-place penalty for an engine change, while a slew of engine penalties for a total of nine drivers propels George Russell to the front row of the grid.

The mixed grid puts McLaren’s Lando Norris in third with teammate Daniel Ricciardo in fourth. AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly, winner of the 2020 Italian GP, ​​starts fifth ahead of Alpine’s Fernando Alonso and Verstappen.

How can I watch Formula 1?

In the UK, Formula 1 will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, with highlights shown on Channel 4 several hours after the end of the race. Live streaming via NOW is also available in the UK.
