FCT’s latest equipment deliveries and commissioned projects

The latest device deliveries and contract projects from FCT

FCT has recently completed a large number of projects for the global cement industry for kiln burners and hit gas generators.

Australia
FCT performed a heat and mass balance of the 4200 tpd cement kiln firing natural gas and alternative fuels at Adbri Ltd. Birkenhead cement plant, Australia.

Europe
A hot gas generator with accessories and controls was commissioned by FCT at Cimenterie CBR, Lixhe, Belgium. The hot gas will be used to preheat raw material as part of an extension of the EU H2020 Low Emissions Intensity Lime & Cement (Leilac) pilot project for CO2 emission reduction.

DAL Engineering Group turned to FCT to supply a Turbo-Flex™ torch for Heidelberg Materials’ Bussac Foret plant in France. The goals of the project are to maximize the use of alternative fuels and improve combustion control. Commissioning is expected for early 2023.

Following the successful commissioning of a separate Turbo-Flex™ torch at the Burglengenfeld plant last year, a Turbo-Flex™ torch was commissioned for Heidelberg Materials’ Hanover plant in Germany. The goals of the project are to maximize the use of alternative fuels and improve combustion control. The delivery also included accessories and extensions for the burner as well as igniters, flame sensor, fans, blowers, BMS and spare parts.

North America
FCT has supplied a number of K-Jet burners to be installed in Lehigh Hanson’s Picton calciner in Ontario, Canada. The K-Jet burners were developed for burning natural gas.

The company has also supplied a new dual-fuel Gyro-Therm™ burner for Texas Lime Co.’s Cleburne facility in Texas. The new main burner can burn up to 100 percent coal and 100 percent natural gas. The delivery includes the accessories and extension of the burner as well as igniters, flame detectors, fans and burner carriage.

FCT has received an order to supply a range of K-Jet calciner burners and a reheat burner for Ash Grove’s plant in Leamington, Utah, USA. The burners improve mixing and heat distribution when operating with natural gas. To complete this technical solution, a special safety gas valve train for safe natural gas starting, control and shut-off as well as a new calciner BMS system will be supplied. Commissioning is expected to take place in the first trimester of 2023.

Asia
In Asia, FCT has received an order to supply Birla Corp with a calciner burner for firing petroleum coke and coal.
