What is the Chrome Splash in Fortnite?
The Chrome Splash is a new thrown consumable introduced in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 4 that can be thrown at any wall or structure for players to step through!
You can also temporarily “chrome” yourself to gain immunity to fire damage. As you sprint, you transform into a blob that removes fall damage and adds a blast of air that allows you to slide through walls.
Where to find the Chrome Splash consumable in Fortnite?
Just like Chug Splash consumables before them, you can get your hands on Chrome Splashes Open chests and look for them as floor loot around the map.
Epic Games has provided players with a detailed explanation, clarifying that “not even wood, stone, brick, or metal are suitable for Chrome. An enemy built a structure for defense? throw a Chrome splash on the walls to make the walls penetrable – jump right through the building and make your opponent fall!”
You are immune to fire damage when you chrome yourself.
How to use the Chrome Splash to bring in Fortnite
Using the Chrome Splash consumable is pretty easy as the item can be thrown just like grenades or the Chug Splashes. To use them you just have to do the following:
- Get Chrome Splash consumables
- Equip it from your inventory
- Hold target to prepare it
- Press fire to throw it
Remember that you can throw a Chrome Splash at a wall for players to step through, or you can throw it down yourself to chrome it. Then you can use all these cool skills!
