Forza Horizon 5 Gets Muddy in the Latest Rally Adventure Expansion

Rally Adventure is an apt name for an expansion that sends players to explore a brand new rugged location with different biomes. Not to mention that Sierra Nueva, the new region hosting the upcoming expansion, is home to the dustiest and dirtiest races the game has hosted at the Horizon Festival.

It’s safe to say that things get really muddy once you’ve picked your team and signed your paperwork. There are no fewer than eight races you can enter before even attempting to take on the leader in an Ambassador race. If you manage to take the lead in all three teams, you’ll unlock a special Goliath route.

But that’s just the icing on the cake. According to Playground Games, Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventures features the largest number of racing events of any Horizon expansion. More importantly, it’s as varied as possible, spanning dirt, tarmac and challenging night races (timed point-to-point Horizon Rally stages and traditional multi-car Horizon races).

Among the many quality of life improvements added by the expansion, a selection of new HUD elements that can be toggled on and off provide players with vital information, including a mini leaderboard showing their position relative to other drivers Compete, a notification pop-up that appears at each timed split gate to indicate whether the player has improved or not, held or lost positions, and new icons representing the co-driver’s called-up notes.

Also, experienced Forza Horizon players who want a more authentic and challenging rally experience can disable the driving line entirely when participating in Horizon Rally events.

As for the new location, Sierra Nueva is full of unpredictable curves with steep climbs and asphalt jumps. But the new region is characterized by its rugged, deformable sand roads connected to pre-deformed tire tracks.

Also, as mentioned, expect to be able to explore a few different biomes, including a giant abandoned quarry, the city of Pueblo Artza, the sand dunes, the desert canyon, the verdant hills, and a shatterable palm forest. I think their names are self-explanatory in terms of what you’ll find as you explore these new biomes.

Let’s get to the exciting part – the vehicles – Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventures adds no less than 10 new cars to the game. However, if you don’t own either of these packs, you can purchase Rally Adventure separately for only $19.99.

Another option would be to simply upgrade to the premium add-ons bundle and get instant access to Forza Horizon 5: Hot Wheels, VIP, Car Pass and Welcome Pack, and you’ll also be ready for release-day Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure.

In slightly different news, Playground Games confirmed that the next Forza Horizon 5 series will be called Horizon Wilds Takeover. This is set to begin on March 2nd, preparing players for the Rally Adventure expansion. So expect that most of the events will focus on off-road and stunt driving.

No information on the cars that will be available as rewards in the next Forza Horizon 5 series, but you still have time to win a few new vehicles in the current series celebrating the Japanese automotive industry, including 2020 Nissan GT-R Nismo, 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STI version, 1965 Toyota Sports 800 and 2018 Nissan Sentra Nismo.

The current season ends exactly on March 2nd when the Horizon Wilds Takeover series debuts, leaving Forza Horizon 5 players with no rest for the next few weeks or so.
