FTB: Big brother shows little brother how to play hockey

The Maple Leafs continued their preseason last night, playing in Belleville and defeating the Ottawa Senators 6-3. It was quite an entertaining game, although the Senators certainly didn’t have their “A” lineup for this game.

We got a good look at Ilya Samsonov in the net in this game, and I saw a goalie from Louis Domingue’s Adventure School. I always worry when goalies go wide of the net to play the puck. Remember when Ben Scrivens used to do this all the time?

When something goes wrong in these goalkeeping adventures, it goes very wrong. Hopefully we won’t experience this at a critical time.

On the plus side, Nick Robertson has ever looked good in this game. He used his ultimate shotgun too many times to count.

The question is, can he set up in real NHL games and not in those preseason games? Hopefully the answer is yes.

The Leafs’ next preseason game is Monday in Montreal against the Habs.
